Dirk is more consistent from the outside. AND he can put it over the 6'8" SFs guarding him... No comparison by a long shot.

Wiz is waayy to slow to play point.

(Jesus, what a stupid thread considering Steve and probably Mooch at the said position... Why not ask whether Kelvin can play SG?)

Hmmm, interesting you would say this, tree, after you posted this in the "newbie in-fighting" thread:

It seems to me that enbehay was just saying what was on his mind.

Yes. Calm down, guys, and re-read the first few posts of this thread. The question posed was that, IF Moochie left (and again I will say that I hope we can keep him), could Walt give Steve a rest against BACK UP point guards? Marbury, Payton, etc. are not backups just yet.

In college Walt carried the team, and he WAS the point guard. He would not beat people to the basket but basically shake or back his way to about the elbow and pull up, which no 6'2'' point could do anything about. He is credited by many as saving MDs program after the sanctions. I think he could protect and distribute the ball well enough even now, but he would be far too much of a liability in terms of defense, being able to penetrate, etc.
