You sort of refute your own point within your post. Rafer has to deal with different lineups constantly because of injuries? Every starting point guard has to learn to play with different players. It's their job. You follow that by mentioning that Lowry has been here only two weeks. So over the course of several seasons of playing with mostly the same players (a few changing out here and there each season) Rafer is still suffering from having different lineups on the floor with him over the course of the season, and meanwhile Lowry comes in and almost immediately starts performing well as a PG with an ENTIRELY new roster to him. The backup competition argument might hold water, except that here lately we have seen Lowry consistently be kept in the game when starters enter back in towards the end (usually with Brooks playing the SG role while Lowry distributes) and his performance does not suffer. He plays equally well.
