I don't have a problem moving Lin, but I can't see any move on the horizon that has a high likelihood of improving this team in both the short and long-run that involves moving Lin.
9 starting guards (includes SGs) this year had per36min stats of 14.5pt, 6.5ass, on 53% or higher TS...Paul, Westbrook, Curry, DWill, Parker, Lawson, Teague, Dragic, and Lin...and from my observations, Lin in the only one of these Cats that played more like a SG than a PG...imagine his productivity if he played in a role he was comfortable with...
This type of comparison is pointless at best and misleading at worst. With this logic, I can provide an equally bulls*** comparison that says something like there are 39 guards(starters or backups) that averaged per 36 11.5ppg/5.9apg/5.0rpg/TS% .550. None of those 39 players are Jeremy Lin. One of them is Patrick Beverley. And my stat would be just as equally worthless as yours.
Well you included rebounding, which isn't that important of a stat for point guards. I think his stat was a little better. But yes, I agree. A lot of these are misleading
If I don't include rebounding, that list just changes to 40 and still doesn't include Lin. His TS% takes him off the list. And still just as worthless.
IIRC we're trying to shed salary for Dwight and maybe Josh Smith, what's the point of adding pgs like Teague when they would just add salary to the team? If Lin does get moved, then a vet pg would probably be in the package sent back to us, I doubt any team in the league will just absorb Lin's 8M salary without giving a player back. And even if we don't get a pg, I see nothing wrong with beverly starting and Canann backing him up. The pgs on our team are just supposed to play D, bring the ball to the half court, toss it to Harden and then make spot up 3s...you don't need vets to do that.
so howard wants calderon with him. CAulderon waiting on dwight. If dwight picks houston, Lin will be gone and say hello to caulderon. wow. takes the guess work out of it all at least. Howard does wield a lot of power now with whomever he choses. too much. danger Will Robinson.... Danger!!!!
ehh yours is more useless cause there's a much less guesswork in a per 36 stat for a guy averaging 30+ a game vs per36 numbers for a guy that comes off the bench.
