If he makes more than 250k he should pay more, but any savvy owner knows the threshold, and if you are close you spend the money to get under it.

Maybe you should get a need a new accountant because the things you do to grow a business like advertising, buying new equipment, hiring new people are all tax deductible.

 

How did Obama tap dance around the question? Seemed to me he took 5 solid minutes to answer it as well as anyone could have.

If this turns out to be true and the media decides to run with it, it might be the nail in the coffin for McCain.

Obama would just have to sit back and watch as the media rehashed and reminded everybody about the Keating 5. It would be like a whole bunch of free negative ads for Obama 19 days before the election and they wouldn''t even be able to blame him (although i am pretty sure FOX will somehow find a way to make it Obamas fault)

 

Hmm, still inconclusive, but maybe the next time he's interviewed somebody can straight up ask him do you own multiple businesses. Or somebody could call up those businesses and just ask if its the same guy.

 

Umm, this is completely, totally, outright false. Small business pay taxes on net pre-tax profits, not gross annual receipts.

This whole argument about small business taxes is almost irrevelent. Most small business owner's profits either get reinvested in the company, so it allows growth, or is paid in salary either to the owner or his employee so is actually taxed at a higher rate through income taxes to those people. Very few small businesses keep a ton of cash on the books through large profits.

The only time it would be extremely detrimental to a comany would be if the company is trying to raise cash over time through its profits for a large investment.

The big problem is that many small business owners as individuals, may make a lot of money some years and get hit with huge taxes, and in other years, they don't make so much money. So if you make $400K for one year, and $100K the next 3 years, and $10k the next year, that one year you paid a ton of extra taxes and couldn't realy carry forward or saved as much as you would have liked to to prepare for the bad economic times.

 

Joe's his middle name, he's registered as a republican, voted in 2006.

For once, Basso is actually right. Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher is a registered Republican in the state of Ohio. His last name appears to be misspelled in the database as Worzelbacher.
