I think Stevie used to be a better defender years ago when he played for JVG, but it didn't look like he was hustling that much during the preseason. I'd love it if Stevie would lock down on defense and cut down on his turnovers, but I just don't see it happening. He hasn't really taken any responsibility for being out of shape or made a commitment to be in top shape for when he's ready. He sounds like he just expects coach to put him in and let him play his way into shape. But as John Lucas Sr. was saying on the radio the other day, you can't do that in today's league. It's too tough a league, and instead of thinking about how coach and the team can help him, Stevie needs to think about what he can be doing to get himself ready to help the team.
Actually, if we can have 20 pts lead at the start of the 4th Q, we may see steve (both) play. Make it happen, players 1-10.
