I'm more annoyed by people who talk on their phones while driving, people who dont know how to stay in their lane, tailgaters, etc. Foglights are so dim. They are so insignificant unless you are looking for them and trying to keep a tally of how many people are driving with them on!

Agreed. My car came with them, and the difference is night and day - no pun intended - between halogen vs. HID for visibility.

Too many half-assed attempts by people who don't want proper OEM lights risk blinding others and they give HIDs an unjust negative reputation.

HIDs? Are those the ones that are that bright blinding white light? If so, join me in with those who cannot stand them!

Once again, what have you had experience with?

4300K is the intensity that is OEM, and used with projector setups.

I'm sure you've been dealing with a lot of hoopty cars behind you with blue/almost-purplish light scattering everywhere. I feel you if thats the case.

Yeah, I'm sure you'd much rather prefer halogens on a car like this.

Why does it matter what car they are on? Some are tolerable but those intensely (for no reason) bright ones are the ones that bug me and I have seen them on lots of different models. If they had the setup you mentioned maybe they wouldn't be so bad.

Don't. Car on the left has a cheaper HID retrofitted and that's the one you should hate because it blinds others. Car on the right has the proper HID install, and you can see how it neatly cuts off in a horizontal line below hypothetical oncoming traffic.

    Yes!!

All new cars should have projectors/HIDs

in coordination with a law that bans HIDs on reflector setups. Streets would be safer plus everyones cars would look that much badasser

    ^^ perfect example.

HIDs are only annoying when idiots who are not supposed to install them do it in a reflector casing with no alignment or anything.

And brakes when ppl are driving behind you? Or speed up when people are trying to get into your lane? Or honk when people don't signal?

Have you ever noticed that the "coolness" of a car (and, in the minds of numbskulls, the driver) is directly proportional to how obnoxious and dangerous that car is to the well-being of other drivers?

It's probably unsurprising that the "coolness" of the car and driver, the obnoxiousness of the car, and the price of the car also seem to be proportional.

Totally forgot about this or I would have mentioned it. It's very easy to see in a car equipped from the factory with HID lights. There is a cutoff on the edges to make sure it doesn't blind people on purpose.

Below you can see exactly how HID lights are supposed to be from factory. You will notice the cutoff on the driver side which points a bit lower so it's never in the on coming traffics eyes.

If only those lights were like that. Unfortunately, people who have improperly installed lights end up blinding others and being a traffic hazard. Same with the jacked up SUVs and trucks who have headlights blaring straight at my side mirrors and rear view mirrors of my car.

Yeah the only thing is they have to have actually have HID's installed from factory and they will be like that. If they do it aftermarket most places might night do the cutoff right.

A good install place will do it but at the end of the day a lot of people get cheap aftermarket fixes.

I'm more annoyed by jackwagons that post enormous pictures in BBS threads that break the standard set margins and you have to constantly scroll to the right to read a freaking post.

But drox, I love the whole groovy "brighten up the curb" fog lamp thingy. There's nothing like creeping through the neighborhood with the foggies on. Now driving on a freeway without some good old pollution or fog? That's a waste of a good fog lamp and a big middle finger to the American driving public.

HID lights do not actually blind other drivers.. like someone mentioned.. its the aftermarket HID conversion kits that people put on their cars that are annoying (especially on big ass trucks)... same with fog lights.. stock fog lights aren't blinding or annoying... its those stupid big fog lights (again aftermarket) that cause problems... if they come on your car from the manufacturer... its all good.. if they don't.. don't try to be all fast and furious and try suping up your car... especially when most people are all show and no go... looks will not make your car any faster...
