Actually you are right. There are people here who think since Yao is injured so much, he is worth less than a healthy role player. Go figure.
agreed. most people that post aren't athletes, nor do they know what it is like to have knee, kneck, or back problems...tmac didn't have neck problems, but those, i would have to say are the most difficult injuries to overcome. i have hyper extended my knee twice, my knees are terrible, i play a **** load of basketball and recently, with the cold weather in austin, they have felt worse. until you have had these types of injuries you won't understand how difficult it is to recover from them. the fact that his back isn't an issue anymore, is a miracle, because i get back spasms and holy **** is it painful, it's just aggravating and you never know when it will spark, sitting, standing, jumping. you all are free to say and bask who you wish. but don't do it without thinking, don't do it without realizing your basing your opinions off nothing, no fact, no doctorate degree, you are just speculating, and your speculations imho SUCK. tmac sucks, he's terrible, shut him down and trade him to the ukraine. trade him for sam cassell and his space ship. for the love of god he will never be good again...
Keep making excuses for T-mac and he will just keep sitting on that bench collecting that check. I know some individuals have a higher or lower tolerance for pain, but in my opinion if you are going to be a b!tch about your ailments you're in the wrong freakin line of work. I once played an entire game with a broken big toe from a 300 pound guy stepping on my foot and I didn't even care until that game was over, when I went to the doctor I did exactly as he recommended(6-8 weeks in a wooden shoe and absolutely no sports). Well 6 weeks went by I felt fine and I was back to my old self again and I did exactly what the doctors told me to do and rested the foot. After that I went out and played my ass off even though I don't get paid to play but I did it because I love to play and my team was still there waiting for my return. Anyone that has been on a great team will tell you there is a bond between the team and yourself and when you go out the team needs you back and you also need that team just as much as they need you. Its a pretty easy concept for any competitors in here and hell that goes for everyone. I would never want to let my team down because I would expect nothing less from them. It just goes to show that some of these players in the NBA are just collecting paychecks and don't really care about winning. And i'm not saying that I wouldn't care about making millions for throwing the ball around but the drive to win and the passion to play should never go by the wayside. T-mac you need to either man up or sit down but pick a position and stick with it. You are either injured or you're healthy enough to play, and if you are really this bad off maybe you should consider retiring and save everyone the heartache. The inconsistancy and the frustration has hit a boiling point.
RockingRox, I'd have to say, your English is very good. As for the Tracy McGrady issue, I agree with JVG that he needs to just stop playing altogether until he gets his issues sorted out. As painful as it gets, he needs to resist the urge to come back until he's ready. The idea of sitting out on back-to-backs is just plain dumb, especially since he sat out against the better team. I really think that we will start winning these games when Battier gets back with us. For once, I'd like to see the entire team on the floor.
I totally agree with the Op. Unfortunately, after couple of years surfing on this website makes you give up hope for these so call Rockets Fans. (Thankfully not a big portion of fans are like that, but they keep on making these stupid bashing threads which becomes quite annoying over times. It's like a whole bunch of flies flying all over your head and you can never get rid of them ><)
good thread. lets give T-mac the benefit of the doubt. and i know someone who has been in his shoes. i'm sure most of you have read this article in the Houston Chron few months back : Feeling McGrady’s pain Tracy McGrady’s dilemma might be challenging, but it is not unique. With McGrady still toying with the idea of “shutting it down” to let his sore left leg get stronger, Heat guard Dwyane Wade said Monday that he knows just how McGrady feels. “Déjà vu,” said Wade, who battled back from injuries last season. “Same thinking that I was going through last year, especially with that knee, that muscle’s not strong in that quad. Some days it feels good, some days it doesn’t. And over the course of the game, in some games it’s going to feel good in the beginning, in some late in the games. “So it’s a tough decision for a guy that sees a team that he wants to be out there playing with, a team that can possibly compete for a championship. He wants to be out there. But, at the end of the day, he’s going to have to make the best decision for the team and whatever decision he makes, hopefully is best for him, for his health.” Wade played in 51 games last season, never seeming to be consistently at full strength until the Olympics in August. “It’s very tough (to decide whether to play), especially you look at the season right now,” Wade said. “It’s not like they’re 12-2, when he can sit it out for a little while. They’re a couple of games, three games over .500, something like that. It’s tough. You want all your guns when a team has not jelled yet and you know that you’re a huge part of it, he’s a huge part of that offense, it’s very tough.” source : http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6130807.html
you can't compare a toe to a knee. toes heel faster than knees, and he had knee problems long before the surgery, he had been playing on it for a long time.
When I agree with you about the part of stopping criticize TMac too much, which I never did, all other parts of your post do not make sense. For example, "First of all, I'm a Chinese and firstly a Yao fan and then a Rockets fan." Just you are Chinese, does not mean you are a Yao fan, there are more Yao haters in China than here, and they prefer to use Tmac to criticize Yao, they are a kind of Tmac fans, but they are no, just lots of idiots, so please do not use Chinese in this case.. Secondly, you never understand the case here, Tmac is not injured, he has a weak knee, and so on. Anyhow I do not put too much for this, it is the team game, the rockets should win more games even with those injures.
I'm not against Tmac. I'm against putting him on court, at least for now. Injured or not, he brings bad feelings to everybody and hurts the team morale a lot. So until he is really ready to contribute, both mentally and physically, the Rockets should not let him play.
I don't think people realize that a bad back makes any injury to limbs feel that much worse. Everything comes from flexibility and having a weak or ailing lower back causes poor flexibility in your legs. Which would make knee injuries that much worse. I have a similar issue with my back as t-mac does and mine is actually a few degree's worse from what I've heard his is like. And man if I go hard for an extended period of time my body dies afterwards, I could have one solid game and then the next only be a contributor. With a back like that consistency is shot. 2 years ago I dislocated my knee cap and the doctors told me it would be around 6 months before I could touch the court again but when they heard of my back issues they told me that period could be extended for an unknown period of time. I'm not defending t-mac cause I actually managed to get back on the court in 5 or so months really pushing myself but even then I did play slower and less effective for a while until I found my place again. So really, I'm just saying don't hate on him until you know all the factors counting into the pain and give him a suitable amount of time to try and find his rhythm or place. Whatever he wants to call it.
