Finally some elbow room. Now I can get some decent ticket prices to get my brother/sister/cousin into a game before the playoffs.

I should renew my season tickets today to stamp home the point that I'm here till the end. (being broke kinda stops that though, Friday I'll be calling tix services though!)

So long as I avoid TV until the game tonight I'll be good.

Good get the rift raft out of here and we will watch the Rockets march into N.O. and beat the piss out of the Hornets! I really believe that last night's game was just a cup check for the Rockets and they will bounce back to silence their critics again.

Hats off to those that stayed and cheered for the streak that was.

I blame Fran for the loss. Dude put us at number one in his rankings this week... he's a jinx ;)

Now it's just a matter of our boys staying aggressive and not giving up, they can still beat any team in the league if they put their mind to it. The true fans will still be there to cheer them on.

So I was at the game last night, and have determined what I hate most about bandwagon fans.

With about 7 minutes to go in the 4th quarter, there was a mass hiatus to the exits. It was especially prominent in the lower bowl, the upper bowl started pouring out with about 3 minutes to go. Here were are losing for the first time in 23 games and people decide to beat traffic with 7 minutes to go in the quarter. First off, with 7 minutes - anything can happen (except Adelman took out McGrady...) But second off, this team deserved to be honored after this loss. Had they lost on the road that would be one thing, but here they are ending the streak at home - the crowd should've given the guys a standing O when the game was over to honor their achievment, not head for the doors with 7 minutes to go! I was really really pissed off. People are willing to pay way over face value to get a ticket...are all hyped up because of the streak, and then leave with more than half of the 4th quarter left. Yes, I'm glad that Toyota Center was loud with all the fans in their seats, yes I'm glad the crowd helped energize the crowd (hell Sunday's game was louder than last years game 7 against the Jazz), but I won't miss the bangwagon fans. Anyone can be a fan when a team is winning, just ask the numerous Celtics fans in the crowd, but it takes a true fan to stick with a team through thick and thin.

Real rockets fan most know that they have been blessed to witness this team has just made history by winning 22 in a row.

Goodbye fellow bandwagons..maybe now it's a little bit empty and I can join in from Indonesia.. :)

Just like Dave mentioned, congrats to those that stayed till the very end.

Everyone else leaving, well, sadly I wasn't surprised at all.

My personal opinion, you always stay until the end, regardless and big Kudos to all the real fans that stayed!

I don't believe any of the "Staying to the end" makes you a better fan stuff.

Sure the team deserved a standing ovation, but this was a late game, it was after 11pm, people have jobs, families, and rain and traffic to fight to get home.

I love my Rockets, LOVE EM.....and they deserve a standing ovation fo sure, but I don't blame people for putting their own needs ahead and going home early.

You got to do what is best for yourself, regardless...IMHO.

I understand where you are coming from but it's not the way I support my teams. I've sat in stadiums through game 7 beat downs and don't leave until the final buzzer.

I have a life, I have a family and I have a job as well.

These people weren't leaving early. They were getting out when things looked bad. With NINE minutes to go and the game entirely slavageable, people were STREAMING out of the lower bowl (read: corporate seating). These -are- fair weather fans, band wagon fans. I'm not one to bash these types of fans, but call a spade a spade- they aren't TRUE fans.

The loss was a blessing in disguise. There is no way the Rockets could have sustained that level of intensity to and throughout the playoffs.

They should just chill out and get rested up... And then bring up the intensity again with a 5 games to go in the season.

At least they can rest of their players more now. Give some more minutes to Brooks, Luther and Landry/Harris. Battier, Skip and Tmac should def'n not play 40ish minutes for the rest of the season if they want to be fresh for the playoffs.

BULLSCHIETT. If the ROX were winning, would you NOT have a family and a job if you stayed?

I hate this "leaving the game early" crap. STAY UNTIL THE WHOLE GAME. Beat the traffic ANOTHER day. Stick with your team through highs and lows.

I am with you, Jeremiah, about the people leaving early. I don't care if were' losing by 1, 10, or 100, you watch the ENTIRE game.

[this is finalsbound, need to learn to log out ]

I'm so grateful to those of y'all who stayed til after the final buzzer. When I saw the TC emptying on TV I told Derek that everyone should stay to give the Rockets a standing ovation for the incredible feat they accomplished.

But now its back to the grind. Gotta figure out a way to beat a New Orleans team that no doubt wants revenge. Man, the west is so packed right now. If the Rockets were to get 1st or 8th, they have a decent chance in a 7-game series. No one team looks unbeatable.

I'm with you man, you stay until the final buzzer regardless.

By the way DaDakota was the one advocating the converse

I apologize for replying " " to your post, GRENDAL. At first glance, I thought you meant "who cares, I leave when I want to leave." I despise fair-weather fans.

Anyway, you did a great job in BEOWULF, man. I especially liked how you threw those humans across the pub.

I kinda felt bad for you when your mom came over and comforted you. I even thought to myself: "THESE MUTHA FACKEN HUMANS MUST DIE A TERRIBLE DEATH IN ALL THAT IS HELL. No way they do this to George McFly. No WAY. " R.I.P. your brother, too... :( Say hello to your mom.

Just today, the guy who carpools with me was talking...

HE: "I turned the TV OFF like midway in the 3rd quarter when they--"
    ME: "STFU. Fair-weather ass."

That would be a fine argument if these fans had planned to leave even if the Rockets were winning. But, you know that these people wouldn't be clearing the stands if the Rockets were the ones up by 15. Moreover, this isn't just any game. We're talking about the end of a historic streak - I think staying the additional 15 minutes is worth it to show the team you still believe in them. It was a late game, but how much time did leaving 7 minutes or 4 minutes early really save? With so many people leaving at the same time, its not like traffic was better. They knew it was a late game when they bought the tickets, they would've stayed if the Rockets were winning, they should've stayed until the very end...at least in this game.

The great part about it being over is we no longer have to listen to people who hate the Rockets be forced to talk about them after not watching any games.

Different strokes, doesn't make you any more of a fan than anyone else.

It is just the way you go about your biz.
