Exactly! He was on the Nets last year, one of the better teams in the east, and he got no playing time at all. i was expecting the Rockets to be better than the Nets this year. Playing Padgett is not helping the cause

Not to mention we have a similar type of rookie in Novak.
If you want to give up D, why not play Novak who is supposed to be a better shooter??

How about play small ball with hustle D?
How about play Novak with better O?
There are multiple solutions, and I don't believe Pa_get, a non-NBA caliber, is one of them.

    And how about Novak, VSpan?
No way pa_get should come off bench from a Championship contender!

Padgett shot 2-3 from three point tonight. How is Novak going to improve on that?

Padgett is also substantially better at defense and rebounding. In fact he had more rebounds in 18 minutes than Padgett has in all 3 of his appearnces combined.

Your reasoning is unsound. Perhaps if Padgett played 30 minutes and was horrid that would be one thing, but he played his role in limited minutes tonight and played it well. Letting Novak defend Tim Duncan would have not helped a freaking thing. The end.

Go find something else to b**** about, maybe start a creative thread about how JVG sucks and Spanoulis makes the sun come up in the morning...we could use that.

Bandwagon supporters are so frustrating... i bet you also want JVG fired... i also bet that you were tmacs biggest fan in the first half but hated him in the second half...i also bet that you were Houston's "number one fan" in 2004 but didnt give a stuff about them last year when they were losing...

As a matter of a fact padgett had quite a fine game imho. If you knew anything about basketball you would know that 6 points on 2/3 threes 4 rebounds and a steal in 7 minutes is not bad.

This goes to all the bandwagon supporters. Either support your team or dont but please dont pick and choose when and when not to support them.

To the loyal supporters of this site, i respect you and understand your frustration at these supporters aswell.

Sorry for this outburst but after reading all these threads after the 3 losses so far this year, this on was just the final straw

Some boneheads want and expect an all-star at every position... first and second string.

Let's agree on at least one thing ... IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN...(not that it works anyway).

Padget made some 3-ptrs, got some rebounds, an assist, steal. I recall 2 games the year before last where his hustle near the end of the games was integral to those wins. For a back-up who won't always be in the rotation, he does just fine.

Then again, maybe ya'll can start a thread about trading Padget for Duncan...

Padgett should play less and Novak, Snyder and/or Wells more. You got to get the more talented players in there even if there is a break in period, that is how they will get better.

Padgett is a good team guy, but he isn't quite the quick shot deadeye Novak could become and you are giving up a ton of athleticism having him out there that gives up chances for lose balls, steals and ORBs (versus Snyder, Wells, or healthy Hayes). He really should not get more than 5 minutes a game for a quality NBA team.

Don't get me wrong, I like him on the roster. But he really should be there for when you need a 3 to tie, garbage time, or if you are hit with a host of injuries.

My support fot the team is unquestionable!! My opinion about Padgett is resolute and has not changed one iota from the offseason. Although Padgett did make a contribution in this game he refused to take so many open shots when we were desperate for points. Novak would not refuse to take an open shot because he has confidence and is much better at the three point shot than Padgett and he is our FUTURE.WE selected Novak to shoot the three point shot, we need to give him playing time to gain experience.
