Wow, Portland is pretty much saying no team could sign Darius Miles, because it hurts their team financially... What if a team really believe in Darius Miles can come back? They can't sign him too? Ridiculous... I guess Rockets should issue a similar statement to teams that no one can sign Lebron because it hurts Rox's future cash flow...
Let's screw them sideways. There trying to scare teams with a bs lawsuit that they don't have. Besides we can just blame are reasons on that buzzer beater by Roy earlier this season .
Any lawsuit Portland would throw out there would make the McDonald's Hot Coffee case look like Roe vs. Wade. Any one of 29 teams should sign up Miles just for the shear audacity of that emailed statement.
Good find, topfive. In bold is exactly what I was thinking when I read topfive's post. Miles himself could have a complaint. Now that we see how desperate Portland is for him to not play, it's going to look really fishy if Miles does not get signed by someone and play in 2 more games. No one NBA team can really get the power to work over Portland -- Miles himself has it right now though. I can see Miles and his agent negotiating right now to take some extra cash under the table from Paul Allen just to sip margaritas until July.
Let some other team mess with Portland. I'd rather the Rockets have a chance at buying one of Portland's many 2009 second round picks.
Howbout we sign him on a 10 day contract and only play him only once to give them a heartbeat. lol. I would rather have other team screw portland
I guess Portland should have followed the rules then...screw em.....this is a cut throat business. Did they do us any favors when the cocked up our deal with Minnesota to get Brandon Roy. Maybe we should have sent a letter. DD
I believe Darius miles was once fined and suspended for stealing someone elses PAYCHECK lol just thought id share that
Clutch, I think we really need to spread this idea/possibility to everyone who cares about the NBA just so we can try to prevent it from happening. I think from Miles's perspective, this is clearly the best thing to do. The league needs to monitor all his cash accounts to check of any unusual activity!!!!!!! C'mon the power of clutchfans, dun let Portland get away with it!!!!!!
its only logical if a non-contending team makes this move, a team who is also short of players. but its really ridiculous Blazers is threatening to sue. im sure out of the 29 teams out there, surely there is at least 5 who seriously hates Blazers, it was reported they are notorious for throwing money at weaker teams to buy their picks, guess karma police headed their way.
