I respectfully disagree. I already said I do pray for things that are more important, such as world peace, my own church and the health of wellbings of my friends and family. However, there is nothing wrong with praying for my team. There is no scritptures or teachings that says I shouldn't pray for a sports team. I am passionate about the Rockets, and I believe in the power of prayers, so those two come together naturally for me.
Ummm... What about the prayers of our opponents? This is why they say the best team wins. It's about who actually scores more points, nothing else. On the other hand (and this is the last time I post this pic), it's time to expect a miraculous comeback from the grave...
Any chance we could get those two on a ten day, in their prime? That would truly be, "Talent on loan from God." As someone likes to say.
That's obviously from the "Lord's Prayer" which Jesus gave as an example to his disciples on how to pray (as opposed to the vain repetitions of the heathens). I don't see where the scriptures make the connection that if you pray that prayer, "everything else will be given to us." However, if you look in Luke 11, where he discusses the Lord's Prayer (v. 2-4), Jesus later tells the disciples "ask, and it will be given to you...for everyone who asks receives" (v.9-10). That would seem to contradict the belief that prayers are "useless." At least, that's what I got out of it...Go Rockets! Les Alexander, being Jewish, will be led to the Promised Land which, in the NBA, is winning the NBA Finals. Two and counting... Does Les and Hakeem working together for the good of Rocket Nation give us hope for peace in the Middle East? Hmmm...
