FranchiseBlade, when I said teams would be reluntant to take Steve Francis, I meant because of his contract, not his ability.
I just saw some video of Yao in the Seattle game and he looked horrible on a couple of shots. He's too slow in the post and puts the ball on the floor for waaay to long. Big men should not massage the basketball. You can probably count in one hand the number of times Hakeem dribbled the ball more than 5 bounces at a time. A lot of it, I know, is just Rudy's idea of what he should be doing, but this is a ranting thread so I'm ranting.
Mobley. You suck. Stop trying to force all these shots that you can't make. Actually try to pass someday. Moochie. Please sit your hair on the bench. Posey. Please play smarter. Yao..please go faster.....and stop looking at your man. Try to look around and watch out for those sneaky people coming at you. And try passing before they get to you. Larry Smith. Please resign. Lamar Odom. Please come to Houston.
My rant is Glen Rice. Why does he get playing time? He's a liability on defense, and has a good shooting night maybe an average of once every five or six games. I would rather have Hawkins or Posey in the game so at least we get some defense out of it, rather than hoping night after night that this will be one of the few nights when Rice is actually going to shoot well. It's nice when Glen does shoot well, it really shows what this team could be, but it doesn't happen very often, and the way we've been getting killed on defense lately, Rice is a real detriment to the team. To reiterate my main point: A defensive liability every night, in exchange for good shooting one in five nights is not a winning proposition.
Take the ball out of Francis hands and desision making. Leave him at the psuedo pg spot. Find by trade ,bus or boat a PF Stop resting Ming at critical junctures of the game Please run an offense Force offensive players baseline on D. Trap sometimes.
It's the stretch run. Start our vets and consistent players (Mo and Rice), bench the kids and inconsistent players (Posey and Griffin), and go to an 8-man rotation. If Cat thinks he's better than 4th option on this team, bench him and let him be #1 option on the second unit. MoT is a way betetr option on offense than Cat. How can you break Griffin's confidence? What EXACTLY is he confident IN right now? Why not bench Posey? Are we playing WELL with him? Is he stoping any swingmen? HEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL No. We were holding the Kobe's and T-Mac's to below average before trading for him. he doesn't hit the 3, he barely hits the 2, he's not smart, and is not good catching the ball on cuts. All he brings is a few transitional points and some energy, which is perfect bench material. Where's the commitment? Keeping sensitive players happy, or actually winning?
Francis is an athletic, skilled, highly talented, hopeless, dumba**!He is clueless. Does he think he is getting points for "degree of difficulty?" Is he incapable of learning? Obviously, YES! I promise you, he is the "hardheaded" little kid that Rice is talking about. The cutesy, dipsy dootle, behind the back, no look cr*p really gets on my nerves. This is a playoff run, my word, how can he get any more stupid! I feel a bit better, but not much. Keep Ming, trade the rest.
Eddie. Please stop cutting to the basket for easy dunks. We dont need that from you. We need you to shoot more long a$$ jumpers. Also, please stop moving your feet when you play defense. Fans love it when you gamble for steals and blocks. Cat. Please stop being a leader. Passing too much hurts your stats. Keep on shooting no matter how bad of a shot it is. Afterall, who cares if you shoot only 20%. If you dont shoot, you have 0% of scoring. Please also stop giving Yao so much credit. You are being unrealistic. Larry. Please only play Yao 20 minutes a game.
TO ALL ROCKETS: Please stop waiting untill there is only 11 or 12 seconds left on the shot clock to start a play. And get Yao the damn ball and when yall do, PLEASE don't just stand and watch. FRANCIS: Please use your picks and don't just try to beat everyone off the dribble. And make it easy for yourself as possible. MOBLEY: When you are open, take the freakin shot. Hence the word SHOOTING gaurd. Don't try to be Francis MOOCHIE: Please learn how to take the pick instead of stepping back on it POSEY: Learn how to shoot. Learn how to pass. Work on your dribbling skillz GRIFFIN: Wake up son.....Mark Madsen is doing better... TAYLOR: Increase your defensive intensity. That hook shot is working for you RICE: Please can you actually try to jump on your threes. RUDY: Get well soon. When you come back, don't be so easy on your players. Mobley and Francis are not as hardworking as Kenny Smith and Vernon Maxwell.
lol....sorry for interrupting everybody's ranting.... BUT GOD. Mark Madsen is great man. He sucks like crap. he really does. BUT LOL. he does so many small things. he looks hilarious.......but he actually does good.......he did good on chris webber...no one even guards him....sometimes he looks so funny.....but other times....he actually looks useful... KELVIN CATO. GET MEANER.
I disagree, I'm not an idiot because I know its you're an idiot, not your an idiot, if you are going to call about half of the people on this board idiots, you should use correct grammar.
I don't like defending people that call other people "idiots", but if you're going to call out someone for their grammar, then you should be careful not to make grammar mistakes yourself. I edited your post below. The grammar mistakes have been corrected in red. I disagree. I'm not an idiot , because I know it's "you're an idiot", not "your an idiot." If you are going to call about half of the people on this board idiots, you should use correct grammar.
MY raant, I am just so maad at the fact that this team had the right to lose two games in a roll. And mad at the fact two stars think their stats is more important than a 7 win streak (Cat and sf). My goodness, they talk about winning for Rudy and haven't don't swat to want to win. Cat pass to Yao!!!. Yao ,remember every shot you take helps this team plus your blocks as well!!!!!.Don't be afraid to make your shots.Steve ,if you really want to be the leader of this team .then by George ,show the team that passing to Yao is important. From YOU, I AM DEMANDING YOU GET 12 ASSIST PER GAME. oR ELSE I RATHER HAVE YAO THE LEADER BECAUSE HE'S SMART UP IN THE HEAD. TO THE WHOLE TEAM PASS PASS AND PASS THE BALL,THE TEAM COMES FIRST NOT UR STATS AS RICKY DAVIS LEARNED. PLEASE DON'T EMBRASS THOSE WHO PLAY YOUR SALARY (THE FANS) OR ELSE PAY ME FOR EVEY TIME YA'LL LOSE THE GAME
I did notice that, and that's why I say the Rockets can never be as good without Glen Rice, even if everyone else is playing at top level as they can when Glen Rice shoots well. When he shoots well, he spreads the floor, makes teams pay when they double Steve or Yao, and is a deadly weapon. He can score in bunches. The problem despite that little string, Glen isn't consistent. It's easy to look at that string and say Rice should get more shots etc. In the Portland game they didn't leave Rice, and the two times he got a shot he missed. On defense he's non-existent. I think if Rice hits his first couple of shots, then keep feeding him. Ideally this off-season, I would like the Rockets to get a consistent shooter. Because Rice on his good nights has shown what the team can do if someone can hit there shots. For the rest of this season I would like nothing more than for Glen Rice to get and stay hot. But the problem is do you keep playing a defensive liability hoping that it's going to be a hot night for him? Because of the potential maybe you take that gamble. I guess I'm softening a little on Glen just because of how good we are when he's on. But I'm still scared of playing him and hoping it's the good Glen we get.
