I have to agree with you Pete! Here is a guy who is 24 years old. Signed for the MLE and averaging these numbers. No doubt a HUGE reason we are where we are at this point in the season. Now half the posters are acting like the sky is falling after a tough game. If we would have predicted he would average these numbers at MLE money no one would have believed it. Heck I hate loosing like everyone else but I think we forget that we are still playing much better than anyone predicted or anticipated.

By the way everyone is acting you would think that they would rather have Artest in his place? This is ludacris really! Can't wait for Morey to make a move. People will be complaining about that then. Could be worse though... look at the Astros.

Lol it's kinda funny at the end, the caption states:

    Trevor Ariza
Technical foul - Ejected (1 point)

    I lol'd at the (1 point)

They just need to put less emphasis on him getting involved in the offense. Let him learn but dont give him this much freedom.

Our most efficient offensive player is getting 10 attempts a game. I dont understand why they dont go to Landry more. I actually dont understand what Adelman is thinking a quarter of the time.

i think ariza has been pretty average so far. he has strenths and he has weaknesses as do all basetball players. Whenever mcgrady returns i think it will get easier and better for him to play his game

What the heck are you talking about Ariza playing no defense? It's not at the level of Battier, but he does actually play defense unlike Taylor and better than Budinger, whom I like but to say is superior than Ariza is nuts.

Um, because maybe the team playing defense does not want Landry to get 30 shots per game??

Maybe you didnt see the Blazer series last year. The Rockets were 3-2 when the Blazers tried to take Yao away. The Blazers would not let Houston throw the ball in to Yao. Adelman knew this would happen and devised an offense that doesn't spend an hour trying to force feed the ball into Yao at all costs. Remember Scola, Brooks, Artest, Battier, others stepping up in the play-offs to make plays because the Blazers were severely overplaying him?

Well, defenses are now starting to do the same to Landry. He is the Rockets' best post option so the other team is trying to take that away. He has been working so hard to get the ball on the block lately. Sometimes the defense overcommits and leaves a glaring weakness elsewhere. You would be stupid to hit your head against the brick wall that is Landry and not take the wide open alternate route to the bucket. Today, the team just could not hit a good open shot created by that offense.

Ariza is reaching Rafer status, teams are going to start leaving him wide open...he needs to hit more often.

Bucman is exactly right. One thing that's incredible baffling to me about this board right now is that NONE of our wings played very well. Brooks shot like junk, Budinger had a couple head of "what are you thinking" plays, and Lowry didn't do all that great either. Yet it's Ariza who's being the only one massively bashed here right now. What gives, people?

Ariza was frustrated and made a dirty attempt to take a guys head off, but he didnt connect. He should be punished/suspended/fined, but no harm done. I am sure he is frustrated with his game so far this season. He is definitely playing out of his comfort zone being asked to be the scorer/playmaker. When Yao and/or Tmac comes back his role will change and no doubt will play better. However, I just hope he doesnt get that dirty player rep. We as fans need to understand that this roster is doing the best with what they have and will have their ups and downs. Maybe they should play the way everyone expected them to before the season started and everyone will be happy.

Am I just missing the sarcasm? If not, what a weird - if not sick - thing to say.

I'm not ready to bash Ariza or give up on him just yet, but I have to admit to becoming more disappointed with him almost each game.

Yeah, Respert needs to get with him on that wide open 3ball. It's should be his biggest moneymaker as far as points are concerned. That and fast break dunks. He could get 12-15 per game just on those plays. He doesnt quite have a shooters mentality. He gets discouraged by misses too easily.
