I think Clutch needs to get his Rookify, Ban hammer out of the tool shed.

You guys will like Ariza more if we get a consistent go to guy.

Ariza will have good games and bad games. In LA he wasn't ever really seen as a dead eye long range shot. He got hot, especially during the playoffs. I think he's probably worked on making it a more reliable part of his game.

I respect Ariza for that work. Trevor is being asked to fill role on this team he's never filled before. He hasn't exactly complained about it or made excuses.

That being said, I don't really care for Trevor Ariza right now. His punch throwing in the Toronto game was lame, and I hate that kind of crap. The other thing is the comments he made to the LA station before the game the first time we played the Lakers, and he talked about missing Staples Center and the fans, etc.

Dispite the work he's done, and he way the team is being heralded for it's hard work, willingness to share, heart, Ariza just doesn't seem to be happy here. If he isn't happy here, I'm happy to have him leave. His disposition in general is kind of sour, and not like he's enjoying his time in Houston as a Rocket.

I'm trying to give him time to adjust, so I still reserve the right to change my opinion of him. But right now, I just don't care for Trevor Ariza very much.

The bottom line for me is that if Ariza seemed happy to be playing for the Rockets, it would be a easier for me to be happy he was on the team.

Its not that he is unhappy as a Rocket, he just is frustrated that his game is not where he thought it was. I actually think he likes the guys around him.

What the heck do you think he's going to say? That he hated playing in LA? Of course he's going to say that he misses Staple Center and the fans, the dude's not an idiot.

It isn't just his appearance. He was talking to the local LA television station about how he missed going Staples Center every night, and he missed the fans of LA.

Tim Duncan has never seemed like he isn't happy in San Antonio.

Trevor has given me reason to believe he isn't happy here. If he ends up giving me reason to believe he is happy here, then I might change my mind about him. I don't like players throwing punches and feeling pity for themselves because they are playing on the Rockets.

I think he'd say that he liked his time in LA, but that he's very excited about playing with the Rockets, not that he missed playing in the Staples Center at LA every night.

That goes beyond just being diplomatic.

So if he said "I liked his time in LA", that's being diplomatic
If he said "I miss playing in the Staple Center" that's being an unhappy bum.

    Yeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhh.....

Pretty much, yes. I don't know why you have a hard time seeing the difference.

If you are married and told your wife that you had a good time with an old girlfriend when you and the old girlfriend were together, she might be a little mad.

If you are married and tell your wife that you miss going to your old girlfriend's house every night, she will be extremely upset and have huge problems.

trevor is from los angeles. he went to UCLA. he won a championship with the lakers. it's normal and fine that he misses LA. i don't see anything wrong with that.

as long as trevor plays hard, that's all you can ask for. and he is. he's just struggling b/c he's playing a role that is not suitable for him.

this is ridiculous to even argue this.

It might be ridiculous to you, and you don't have to hold it against Trevor that he doesn't seem happy about playing on the team you love.

I love the Rockets, think they have a great coaching staff, tremendous unselfish players, and I want people to be happy and want to play for that team.

I understand that Ariza is from LA, and that first game was early in the season. I noted his comments but didn't really hold it against him, or let it detract from my like of Ariza. I hate the Lakers, but he and Bynum were the only Laker players I could actually stand.

When he first came to Houston I was happy. I was guarded my optimism after hearing those comments, but didn't completely sour on him. I figured it's an adjustment but he'll make it, and end up loving playing for the Rockets.

He hasn't seem to warm up to Houston or the Rockets, and today goes out like a chump throwing punches. I also said in my initial post, that if he warms up to the Rockets, it's possible I'll warm up for him, but right now, I don't care for the guy. I have my reasons and I stated them. I won't hold it against you if you have different reasons for liking him, or if the reasons that cause me to dislike him, don't cause you to dislike him.

You know, maybe it's time we started blaming Adelman for all this. It's time he started telling Ariza to give up his shots to Brooks, Landry, and Scola. He's just not that type of player that they were hoping he'd be. There are way too many deficiencies in his game to give him that many shots.

Yes, he's been asked to do a role that he's never done before but let's face it, he kinda sucks at it. It's time to start spreading the wealth around and Adelman needs to man up and tell Ariza that. Ariza should be recognizing what he can and can't do already and he should start deferring to the players that have better efficiency. Hell, I'm calling it right now, the beast known as Landry deserves more shots. Sorry Trevor, you're not an all-star no matter what Adelman said to the media.

I thought ariza was a terrible signing since yao is out. Making him the no1 option is an even worse idea.

Really? How do you know that? Did you also foresee into the future back in 2004 when he was drafted in the 2nd round that by 2009 he was a highly sought-after free agent with a ring? Lets hear some more predictions from Merlin over here

I'm still glad that he will be here when Yao returns, he will come around and I' sure people here will change their opinion on him.

Rick Adelman has confidence in him that he can be a star caliber player in this league, and Im pretty sure alot of people have respect for Rick Adelman and his opinions. When Rick says t-mac shouldn't play, everyone loves it. I guess everyone here just needs to judge him at the end of the season, and not now with all these injuries and adjustments.
