I'm not concerned with stopping criticism. I'm concerned with people who think they know the way it should be. There is a one basic flaw with the way players are criticized on this board; Yao, (and all other players for that matter) is who he is, yet a lot of us superimpose our imaginations of what we feel he could be upon him and then tear him down.

There is nothing wrong with criticism, it's just that some people, while believing the hype, tend to go way overboard with their posts and get offensively personal when doing it. In my opinion that shows a lack of character and understanding. But I understand this a board for fans, and not everyone is concerned about talking about basketball in a pure or serious sense.

I for one am getting tired of reading the insult of the the day on this board. Some of these posters here that like to take cheap shots at players are the same ones that would turn around and wet their pants if the ever got to meet any of these guys.

I’ve said enough. I myself am not here to judge anyone.

I'm fine with it, honestly. He's definitely trying, and his heart is in the right place. I agree with those posters saying that the team's goal should be to best utilize his skills while continuing to teach him methodically. His passing is an amazing asset.

Easy, Smits career averages are terrible due to his injuries. He averaged almost 8 boards between 93 and 97. Just for the sake of argument. I honestly think Smits never got enough credit for what he could do on the court.
