i respect your opinion surf and agree on some levels and I guess its just sad it takes a situation like this to teach people a lesson
Wow, I had no idea a discussion about drinking and driving could get so controversial. I thought everybody was against it, at least in principle. (Of course, a lot of these same people who wear the little red ribbons, etc. turn around and drink like crazy on weekends and then drive home because "I'm more careful than the other guys so it's OK". ) Glad your girlfriend is OK. Hope this serves as a wake-up call for everyone in the future.
On a lighter note: my 9YO son once chastised me for getting behind the wheel with a travel mug of coffee. He pointedly told me: "Dad, you're not supposed to drink and drive..." Future cop.
