I'm a huge multiplayer fan. And knowing Titanfall wont come to PS4 sucks, especially after hearing how much praise it has gotten from people who have got to play it. and infamous second son - meh. im sure it will be a fun game. but i played the first 2 infamous games . they were fun at first, but QUICKLY got boring/repetitive and i no longer had the urge to play it anymore. i'd trade killzone/infamous for titanfall any day. and im getting ghosts over killzone, unless people say bad things about ghosts between its release and the release of ghosts on ps4.
Oh, so you can confirm that the analog functionality of the L2/R2 buttons works on PC? I do know (or at least I assumed) they will be analog when used with a PS4. I'm saying they don't function correctly as analog buttons when you use them on the PS3.
They register on PC as analog. I've had issues with them, but I haven't done the suggested work arounds people have made yet. I believe I read a proper driver is coming.
It kind of sounds like Sony is re-prioritizing things so that DLNA, MP3, etc., might get patched pretty quickly. Maybe first update post-launch (not counting the launch patch), though that's just speculation.
I don't understand this "MP3" thing? Isn't that a 2002 thing to worry about? Doesn't everyone with a PS4 have wireless Bluetooth audio and Spotify on their phone/tablet?
It would be nice to have MP3 support so you can use it as custom soundtracks in game (assuming that too is implemented, and implemented well).
Was that implemented on PS3? I remember Ridge Racer on PSX would load the entire game at once so you could remove the CD and insert an audio CD and play the game to the music of your choice. That was a blast. Good times. Simple days.
Custom soundtracks was supported, but it had to be implemented by developers (I think Red Dead Redemption and maybe a few others did this?). It should be an "OS Feature" (so it would work for everything/all games), but Sony couldn't get it to work given the limited resourced of the PS3 (and having to add this after the fact). MS had this with both the original XB and the 360 I believe.
Yep, I certainly remember on 360 listening to my own custom music while playing survival mode in Dead or Alive 4. I don't so much care about just being able to play MP3s on PS4 just to hear the music... there are better and more power-efficient ways to listen to music... but it would be a big deal to me if they implemented custom soundtracks as an OS-level feature. That would be cool for sure.
I don't know how reliable this site is but: http://couchjockeyz.com/mp3-support-dlna-and-more-features-to-follow-on-2nd-ps4-update/
I don't think the site is reliable, but the news probably is (since it was taken from NeoGAF/elsewhere).
BTW, there will be a PS4 "All Access" event on 11/14 via Spike: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Get ready for an epic night of <a href="https://twitter.com/PlayStation">@PlayStation</a> world premieres and announcements. <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23PS4ALLACCESS&src=hash">#PS4ALLACCESS</a>, Live from NYC in 2 weeks, 11/14, 11PM on Spike</p>— Geoff Keighley (@geoffkeighley) <a href="https://twitter.com/geoffkeighley/statuses/396109466300477440">November 1, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Geoff said new games would be shown.
Only games I ever remember having this are MLB The Show and Wipeout HD. Don't remember seeing it in RDR, but I never really messed with the settings in that game, I pretty much just played.
DAMN. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/10/30/ps4-the-ultimate-faq-north-america/#sect10 No MP3, No CD? WTF.
Scroll up a few posts. It's being fixed in the first major patch after the launch patch. It's expected by the end of this year at the latest.
I don't think audio CD playback will be patched in quickly, if at all. I don't think people really care about that much, compared to the other features.
