I don't know. GameCube was really terrible to me and I can bring myself back to Nintendo. No 3rd party games and no online?
Funny how a mysterious controller can get people psyched about the system itself. As for which one I'd pick, it'll be Sony until proven otherwise. It's happened before: 1. Atari 2600 2. NES 3. Turbo Grafx 16 (which i STILL have) 4. SNES 5. PS1 6. PS2 7. ?! And this doesn't include the Game Boy, Game Gear, Game Boy Advance, PSP. Just show me good games and I'll go towards it.
Your comment and list don't make sense. The only Sony systems are so far down you don't know what to put below them.
Um...maybe if you look at the name of the systems you'd realize that i listed it in chronological order? with 1 being the 1st system i had and 6 the last one i bought? Basically whenever a new generation system comes out, I'm not going pledge loyalty to any one system. You have good games on them, I'll buy it.
Whats so great about a system thats barely scratching the surface while Xbox360 and the PS3 are already ahead technology and software wise? Yes the download of old classic Snes games sounds intriguing but who doesn't already use an emulation on their PCs? The Revolution has some slick design, I'd give it that. Nintendo lost focus after the world-wide success of the NES. So then came the SNES, a system that's great for RPG and platformers but the Sega Genesis edges it slightly b/c of the SNES slow processing speed thats unable to handle shooter and sports titles which uses a lot of sprites on screen at once. Next we got N64 which was a major blow for Nintendo b/c everybody else(Sony,Sega,Panasonic) was already ahead in the technology department which all of them uses CD-ROM media for games while Nintendo is stuck with the old cartridge base for their N64, which doesn't hold a lot of memory and 3d games were hard to come by. Nintendo began to gain some ground with the release of the game G.Cube, being the most powerfull systen during the time and with great exclusive titles...but it was too late. Sony already has a huge fanbase due to PS1 and MS marketed the Xbox as the system for on-line FPS which was a big trend at the time. So really, I don't see the Revolution to be all that revolutionary givens Nintendo's history in marketing and the fact that it will be the last system out of the gate doesn't help either. The Gameboy and maybe the DS is the only saving grace for Nintendo. The only reason I could see one buying a Revolution is to live in the past with its nostalgic classics(a lot of great games indeed) and if your're a big Nitendo fanboy. For most of us, we want to move forward and experience with todays and the futures technology given that developers could created such great games as they did in the past.
Until someone else coems up with something remotely close to Xbox Live, I'm going with the 360. Playing against people around the world on Live is true gaming.
What about playing online on ps3 for free? I never liked the idea of paying Microsoft to play online when you already pay someone else.
360... A friend of mine is probably going with the PS3, but she heard from a guy at Best Buy that the prelim. pricing is in the $500 - $600...Can anyone confirm this? If so, damn...I still think its going to be hard to spend the $400 for the 360, but with the wifi built in, being able to use my old games, there is no other choice...besides Sony products are crap...
BB people knows just as much (if not way less) than we do. I'd trust Gamestop people before I trust anyone at Best Buy
Sony has been very coy about their plans. But RC is right, TGS should shine alot of light on what they are doing. They have indicated that 1 SKU is the future of PS3 and they will have a Live-like service that will be compatible with the PS3 and PSP. If it comes in at $299, I am getting a PS3. Fo sho.
I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that you have to pay another $100 for wifi on the 360 (unless you meant wireless controllers). It is built-in on the other consoles though (even the PSP and DS for that matter). And what steddinotayto said is true. The guys at BB wouldn't know anymore than we do... in fact, they may be the same people who say you can play DVD's on your PSP. edit: If it comes in at $299, I will probably spend a good 24 hours laughing at Microsoft. That will be a great day.
Dude...it's all about the Commodore 64.... I'll probably pick up the PS3 later than sooner....I'm just so into Guild Wars nowadays...
My bad...I see how it is working. All the systems have good games...which is why I usually end up with 2 of the 3.
Final Fantasy X and X-2 was crap. So, mateo what does this mean then? Are you tempted at all to go with the 360 cause of Sakaguchi? Or you just gonna follow where FF goes, which is probably the PS3?
I don't think either games were crap. FFX was really good, IMO. The whole idea of FFX-2 should have never gone through, but the gameplay was pretty good. FF XIII looks good as well, IMO. I suppose SE could have done better with at least 2 of the 3, but the games are still great enough to warrant them as "console sellers," IMO. I'm curious about Sakaguchi's games, but I think most of the people who made some of my favorite FF's are still at SE, so I'd give them the edge at the moment.
