    obviously,

First, Lakers fail to make playoffs after Kareem Rush corrupts the team (believe me, it will happen).

    1. Kings (win 3-0)
    8. T-Wolves

    3. Mavs
    6. Rockets (win 3-2)

    2. Mavs (win 3-1)
    7. Clips

    4. Spurs (win 3-2)
    5. Blazers

    **********

    1. Kings
    6. Rockets (pull off shocka 4-3)

    2. Mavs (win 4-2)
    4. Spurs

Rockets sweep Mavs and beat the Celtics to make up for '86.

    dirty,

No one said we'd top the Mavs or Spurs in regular season did they? No one has proposed 60 wins did they?

I doubt it. 60 wins is unrealistic.

The basic idea here is between 47 and 55 wins, and the ability to upset the Lakers because we have tons of perimeter threats. Much like the Bucks are probably the team most able to beat the Lakers.

Whether you believe you will top the Mavs or Spurs in the regular season or the playoffs, that is more than optimistic after coming off a 28 win season.

As for the perimeter game beating the Lakers, I am not sure that will work because if it did, the Mavs would have a better chance at beating them.
