Just wait til you see the ALCS schedule, off day after game 2 for travel but no off day the rest of the way. Even if the series goes 6-7 there wouldn’t be a travel day between game 5 and 6. I believe I read somewhere that the odd scheduling this year is due to the season starting a couple weeks later back in March/April.

Peña or Bregman in the two hole? They were talking about it on 790

I prefer Bregman because he has better on base skills. Though Pena's speed is nice.

Pena will likely be the 2-hole hitter though. Can't imagine they'll suddenly change Bregman to hit 2nd.

Off day between game 1 and 2? Just brilliant.

It sucks for the Astros, allowing the Mariners time to rest their pitching.

Specifically allowing Castillo to pitch game 2 instead of game 3.

But it's for TV and has been done previously also.

doesn't really benefit Seattle much when they can't use their ace on full rest if it goes to game 5 while JV will be fully rested if needed. Even game 4 JV will be on full rest.

Pena definitely isn't the ideal #2 hitter but putting him there lengthens the lineup a bit. It'd be super feast or famine if Tuve/Breggy/Yordan/Tucker were bunched up.

Don’t mess with what works. Even though Bregman would be good there the Peña shuffle seems to disrupt Peña’s ability and the Astros perform well when he is batting 2nd

They were discussing Mariners pitching throws the slider 44% and Bregman might be better option in two hole for this series.
Agree Peña has worked in the 2

True - the slider is not Peña’s friend. If I’m not mistaken he has shown a little better plate discipline over the past month or so. But agree that is a factor. I think I still go with him in the 2 spot for game one and see how he reacts. If he pulls a Siri and KOs 4-5 times I may move him down

I'd put Bergman in the 2 hole, Pina in 5, then Alexys Diaz, Chad McCormick, Garriel and then Moldinado.

Curious to see what the roster will look like?

    Who's left off?

If we **** the bed with a 7 run lead then yes, Mariners have a chance.

They always are. We have to defeat them along with our opponents in every post season game.

    Just my 2 cents.
    Altuve (2B)
    Pena (SS)
    Yordan (LF)
    Bregman (3B)
    Tucker (RF)
    Meyers (CF)
    Chas (LF) Mancini
    Maldonado (C) Vazquez
    Gurriel (1B) Diaz A
    Hensley pinch hitter/offensive replacement
    Dubon pinch runner/defensive replacement

    Published line up
    1. Jose Altuve, 2B
    2. Jeremy Peña, SS
    3. Yordan Alvarez, LF
    4. Alex Bregman, 3B
    5. Kyle Tucker, RF
    6. Yuli Gurriel, 1B
    7. Trey Mancini, DH
    8. Chas McCormick, CF
    9. Martín Maldonado, C
In my opinion starting Mancini and not starting Meyers are Dusty's first mistakes.

I bet they start Meyers in CF for Verlander. Rest of the lineup is the same.
