What does a couple of quarter stats have to do with making your teammates better?

he had 0 assists through 3 quarters in game 1. i'm just saying his teammates are stepping up regardless of what their best player is doing (whether he's dominating or struggling). that's a sign of a great team.

Kobe is playing out of his mind. But the Lakers dont want this to become a one man show. Kobe should start getting his teamates involved. But as long as the Lakers are scoring they should be fine.

Man, it never ceases to amaze me how cowardly the Nuggets are. The may just be the most loaded roster in the league (at least top 5) and yet they refuse to come anywhere near matching that potential. They refuse to play defense, they refuse to show any guts or pride in their game. They're like the anti-Rockets, and this is coming from a guy who's actually rooting for the Nuggets in the West (behind the Rockets, of course).

I would like for just once in my life to see Melo or JR or Martin or anyone of the other incredibly overpaid players make a dive at the ball or look like they give a sh**.

    Such a frustrating team...

Assists has no correlation with making your teammates better.. it just means your teammates are hitting their shots from your direct passes.. what you don't understand is the Lakers usually make 2nd and 3rd passes off of the double team aka the Hockey Assist.

the nuggets did not double kobe much in game 1 outside of the first quarter. odom and gasol were simply dominating the nuggets' big men and it opened up for their shooters. that's how kobe eventually got going as he got tons of space to operate.

the lakers have a great team. they have good players at every position (offensively anyways).

smith is going to be an all-star REAL SOON.

like someone said the nuggets just don't have the discipline. if JVG was the coach, they coudl be the best in the L.

When the team is wining and the role players are playing good, it was because kobe gave them the confidence. When the lakers are losing, it was because Lamar Odom sucks and the role players are the worst in the league?

As if the lakers are wining nothing to do with Odom and Gasol. As if the lakers are losing nothing to do with Kobe's leadership! LOL!

odom is their most integral player believe it or not. he does the rebounding, ballhandling, playmaking (within the system) that allows kobe to do what he does best (and the best in the L at that): score.

kobe's sole job is to score on this team. that's all. he has no other responsibilities to worry about.

odom and gasol take care of the rest.

ImmortalD24 probably thinks kobe is responsible for lamar and pau dominating the glass, and for george karl playing anthony carter way more than he should have so that he could get abused. kobe was also responsible for the nuggets' shot selection and missed free throws. nevermind that kobe took 26 shots (and would have had 7 more if he wasn't fouled): kobe makes his teammates better and is responsible for their hot shooting.

That's why i want rockets to face Lakers in the 1st round. Teams which didnt play any defense is always easier to play against than those play physical like Utah!
I, especially want rockets to face lakers because it will also bring all the lakers trolls, hidden in this forum, out! Too bad, the rockets has to face the Jazz!

Kobe freakin Bryant. What an amazing player. Should be MVP if not Chris Paul. Accomplished so much and makes every one of his teammates better. Man, it's an honor to be watching a player of his calibur. You see total greatness when Kobe, CP3, or Duncan is on TV. Every team wishes they had a Kobe man.
