Didn't you used to post as BBall Scientist? He was pretty thin skinned too. You're just begging for a pile-on of epic proportions.
dude, it was a pretty brutal cut down...ya need to lighten up - taking everythings WAY too seriously man. If you are going to make bold claims and predictions, then be prepared for people to smash you when you're wrong and have thick skin....cause when you get defensive they just come harder.
LOL, yes, I remember it. You first predicted a 41-win, then later, you predicted high 40s wins and there is no way to reach 50 wins. At that time, you even questioned me whether I could see a 50-win or not by myself, I did answer "Yes" to you. Actually, you just changed your opinion/prediction in weathers, and do you still want to call it an opinion/prediction? .
It was nothing close to brutal. He made a technical observation based on how long I have been a member of this site that didn't come close to corresponding with how much basketball I have actually watched in my entire life, including the Rockets. Bring it on.
Lets try this. My post copied and pasted from another thread: games Rockets "should" win home or on the road are red winnable games are blue Code: Remaining games Feb 24 Chi 8:00 PM W Feb 26 Wash 8:30 PM W Feb 29 Mem 8:30 PM W Mar 2 Den 8:00 PM W Mar 5 Ind 8:30 PM W Mar 6 @Dal 9:30 PM Mar 8 NO 8:30 PM Mar 10 NJ 8:30 PM W Mar 12 @Atl 7:00 PM W Mar 14 Char 8:30 PM W Mar 16 LAL 7:00 PM Mar 18 Bos 9:30 PM Mar 19 @NO 8:00 PM Mar 21 @GS 10:30 PM W Mar 22 @Pho 10:00 PM Mar 24 Sac 8:30 PM W Mar 26 Min 8:30 PM W Mar 30 @SA 1:00 PM Apr 1 @Sac 10:00 PM W Apr 3 @Port 10:30 PM W Apr 4 @Sea 10:30 PM W Apr 6 @LAC 9:30 PM W Apr 9 Sea 8:30 PM W Apr 11 Pho 8:30 PM Apr 13 @Den 9:00 PM W Apr 14 @Utah 9:00 PM Apr 16 LAC 8:30 PM W 11 "sure" wins + 7 winnables = 18 wins, to put them at 53 wins end of the year Rockets play 10 of their last 15 games on the road. They just set a team record winning streak of road games but it'll be interesting if their mental approach stays the same for those last games. They play 10 of their next 12 at home. Regardless of their road success thats a welcome sight. If the Rockets go like 9 - 3 that stretch they'll be looking good for the playoff push.
solid, I want to add a question to my previous post#724. Right now, do you want to predict that the Rox will have a 50-win or better? .
What does "in weathers" mean? I remember I told you that this was all a game, and that none of us "know for sure" what is going to happen ultimately. We can only go with what we see now. The Rockets have still not won 41 games, so I am not yet "officially" wrong, but I hope I am! Lighten up, you missed my whole humor thing in our last exchange. This is for fun, it isn't a courtroom. None of our "opinions" are locked in, they change with the fortunes of the team. We are fans, you know, FANS. What do you want, a signed contract with each post? Fans, get it? Game, fun, fans. This is sports; a diversion, a fantasy, a game.
Um... that IS a comment. Why do you find it necessary to make a comment to let everyone know you won't be commenting?
I don't see why these games are considered probable losses, especially the home games. If we keep playing well, we should win at least half of these. The Mavs will still be adjusting to JKidd when we play them; Boston isn't playing well enough to beat us at home; Phoenix and LAL we can beat (won't be easy, though); we've won games in SA in recent seasons. We've already beaten the Hornets handily in NO and there's no reason why we couldn't do it again there and at home. In fact, I think RA and staff may have given the league a blueprint for beating the Hornets: Pressure CP3 as much as possible and dare someone else to step up. The Hornets are way overrated and will have trouble getting out of the second round, even if they manage to hang onto their home-court advantage.
Also, we have to figure we will lose a trap game or two. We won lose all of the game he mentioned in fact, we will win a good bit of them, but at the same time we won't beat every other team on the schedule. I say we will lose another 8 to 11 games....27-31 losses equals 55-51 victories.
This is thread is so hilarious... Brooksball kept making fun of himself by those "what's wrong with stating my opinion" responses, keep it going man..
Yep. Somewhere along the way, we'll lose a "sure" win or two. It happens. I'm ok with that, as long as we beat the good teams fairly often. I agree with your prediction: I'm thinking 53-55 wins. Considering our pathetic start, that would be a great season. And that brings up something that really bugs me. An awful lot of people who are trying to cast their season-long pessimism as "being realistic" and "thinking with the head, not the heart" are the very same people who DID think with their hearts and panicked during the poor start. There are a bunch of us here who never panicked despite the ugly losses and kept insisting that changing from JVG to RA was a MAJOR obstacle to overcome for these guys. Stylistically, their systems could not be any more different, and a few weeks in pre-season is not nearly adequate to lose instincts you've developed over FOUR years and get a new set of instincts ingrained. Add to that the tough schedule -- it's not JUST that we were playing strong teams, the thing that REALLY hurt us was that we were on the road a lot and had precious few consecutive days at home where the guys could really work the bugs out of some of this new stuff. Check the schedule: Once we started getting more stretches at home, we "magically" started wining games -- even the ROAD games. That's no coincidence. This team was very talented last year, and we got even more talented in the off-season because we have a GM who's a step ahead of most of the others. Once this talented bunch got the hang of the system and learned to play together in it, they started winning lots of games against weak teams. Now they'll be winning lots of games against strong teams as well. If T-Mac comes to play in the post-season and/or Yao steps up his leadership and begins to dominate like he's capable of doing, we'll be a dreaded matchup no matter whose court we're on. But back to the main topic of this thread: BrooksBall... I love this team with all my heart, but I think I've been looking at them realistically all year long (except when that 6-1 start made me temporarily delusional!), as opposed to guys like BrooksBall who were unable to see the situation for what it was and assumed instead that RA's system sucked, that RA was not emotional enough, that T-Mac was toast, that we totally lacked heart or talent, etc. So don't tell me I'm the unrealistic one. In all fairness to BrooksBall, though (who just happened to open his ClutchFans account shortly before BBall Scientist bit the dust... hmmm...), I kind of admire the way he's obstinately sticking to his original post (more or less). It's kind of like Roger Clemens continuing to stick to his "I'm clean" stance even though his reputation is crumbling faster than Britney's career. If nothing else, it'll be fun to watch as his tap-dancing gets more and more frantic from here on out.
Well since you don't know the definition of cheerleader I will show you Cheerleader - an enthusiastic and vocal supporter So yes that is exactly what I am when it comes to the Rockets
