He showed the toughness that dallas needed. Now if we can only trade Yao for Erika. Sorry, but i really really hate CP3 with a PASSION.
Have you not seen his footage with Julius Hodges? Have you not seen any Rockets vs Hornets Games? Are you CP3's mother?
Wow, I know I haven't been here long, but reading these replies is the most disappointing thing I've ever seen from my fellow Rocket fans. I see replies of people loving Dampier and Irk..? WTF is going on? I see people hating on Chris Paul because he punched someone in the groin in college. Jason Terry did the same exact thing at the NBA level to his former teammate, Michael Finley, when Finley went to the Spurs, yet people are actually praising him in this thread. Good god, I know most of you guys don't like CP3 and DX because of their whining to the refs (which they do), but they're facing the DALLAS MAVERICKS. As of now, this should be our most hated franchise. We shouldn't be rooting them on against ANYBODY. & to the guy above me who is implying Dirk delivers in the playoffs (I can't understand why a Rocket fan would even say this), go re-watch the Warriors/Mavs series from last year. Especially game 6 when Dirk scored 8 points on about 3 - 16 shooting.
Hornets showed their lack of playoff experience in this game. This was first road game in playoffs for them and everyone except Pargo looked rattled. West and Paul gave them next to nothing. I expect Hornets to play much better in the next game.
I expect paul to go out with a stress fracture on his hip bone. Next to his name they will have: Out for Career
So we're just looking at one game to determine a player's worth in the playoffs? I'll see your 8 points on 3-16 and raise you 42 and 18 against the spurs in 2001...or the 32 and 19 last night.
You're forgetting this performance <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4Vy0kI4SMvo&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4Vy0kI4SMvo&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> Zboy, I also expect New Orleans to play better tomorrow. But the fact that both the Hornets and Byron Scott have NEVER won in Dallas before leads me to believe that the Mavs will go back to New Orleans with the series tied.
You want to talk about this past game with NO or past games against PHX & San Antonio, but how about his biggest chokejob, the NBA Finals, where he basically disappeared after the Mavs had set up their victory parade when they went up 2 - 0 on Miami. If I remember correctly, Dirk pretty much sucked it up for basically all the games they lost, shooting no better than 40%. Anyway you want to look at it, I just can't understand how people can be lead to believe that Irk is a team leader. Mark Cuban made the decision to have him be his franchise player, and let Steve Nash walk, when if those two stayed together, things would've been plenty different. And to put his end of the bargain in for Cuban's choice of him as the Mavs' "franchise player", Dirk has gone invisible in more playoff games than he has done well in, and has exerted way too much anger and effort on beating up exercise bikes.
first loss of finals - 30 pts on 9/20 2nd - 16 on 2/14, made 11/13 ft's for the points 3rd - 20 on 8/19 4th - 29 on 10/22 In the losses - 24ppg on 29/75 or 39%. The 2nd loss severely skews those stats, obviously. the other games were 42, 45, and 45 percent. Could he have played better? yeah. Will the mavs EVER get another shot at the title? Probably not in the next decade. But that series in itself doesn't make dirk a choker. The whole is larger than the parts.
I just came up with the most brilliant nickname for Chris Paul: C-3PO No explanation necessary. What do you guys think?
I just think Dallas is ultimately a better, more seasoned team that's been through it all. I think the Hornets were just on an emotional high the first couple of games and Dallas played flat. When the dust settles, I am betting on the equally talented and veteran Dallas squad to beat this young, emotional Hornets team. It's the only reason I picked Dallas to win this series.
AJ finally recognises his mistakes and put Jerry Stackhouse on the bench when he laid eggs. Putting Jason Terry back to the starting up makes the difference. The defense to rotate J-Kidd and J-Terry on CP3 and keeping CP3 to dive into the middle and clogging the lane has reduced CP3's effectiveness greatly. After all, New Orleans is one-man team. The Hornets have only one engine. Shut it down, the Mavericks will win the series.
