And what reason would that be???? They have only slaughtered the Rockets in 4 straight games this season.
No matter how bad Phoenix does from here on out, the rockets will go out of their way to do worse. Such is their nature. Phoenix loses to chicago, giving us the 8th spot. How do we respond? Do we bury them with wins against lowly eastern conference teams? no, we blow 2 games to the knicks and wizards. I'm beginning to think this team only exists to cause me pain. When was the last time we got a quality win? i can't even remember one. and when we do kick the crap out of a good team, it only shows how good we could be if we pulled our head out of our asses.
I still like our chances. Phoenix averages 95.1 points scored and 94.8 points against. A difference of .3 points. Houston averages 93.2 points scored and 91.9 points against. A difference of 1.3 points. Over the course of the rest of the season, I think we should be able to at least a gain a game on them and win the tie breaker. Now facing Dallas in the first round would mean a pretty quick exit, but at least we would get a little playoff experience.
What makes this season so hard are not the losses. We can deal with a team that is barely over .500. That is okay. It is the utter lack of improvement in many areas like overall intensity. They seem to be sliding backwards as the season progresses. Sure, there are some games where their intensity is consistent, but more games than not they fall behind and show a general lack of caring about Defense. SA had so many uncontested jump shots and layups in the 1st quarter. I watched Mobely, Posey, Francis and Griffin just watch their man drop 10-15 foot jumpers and threes in their face and their hands were not up and they never made a run at the shooter. They stood there and watched, as if to say we give up!
Montgo, Exactly. Mobley let Manu shoot uncontested 3 straigth times, then as he made each one he had a look of like "who is this guy?". No respect for an NBA player....ridiculous....play them all tough guys... DD
if the playoffs are outta reach i say play boki and t mo more... and throw in hawk and tito as well.... why the hell not
Independent of whether or not the playoffs are out of reach, I think this shakeup is necessary. Play new people. Observe their "energy" and what they can do to inspire our sagging team. Ginobili spent a lot of time on the bench and was clearly READY to play. We need to stir some things up with some high energy hustle guys. I second the motion to let them play. theSAGE
One of this teams worst habits is giving up the outside shots to the opposing team and expecting them to miss. I don't know if this is just strategy or what, but it's burned the Rockets so many times. Not only did Manu get wide open shots all game, so did Stephen Jackson, and so did Malik Rose. And all of them hit their wide open shots unlike the Rockets. Rudy, just because your players can't hit open shots from the perimeter doesn't mean the other team can't!!!
This is how I see it shaking out: 1. San Antonio 2. Sacremento 3. Dallas 4. Minnesota 5. Portland 6. LA Lakers 7. Houston 8. Utah
This is how I see it shaking out: 1. Dallas 2. San Antonio 3. Sacremento 4. Portland 5. Minnesota 6. Utah 7. Lakers 8. Memphis PSYCHE!!!!, I thought you'd get a kick out of that, X theSAGE
Yup, we wont make the playoffs this year. Reason: Rudy T doesn't care to put his best players in the game when the team is losing badly. He sticks to his rigid substitution schedule and doesn't adjust to whats going on in the game. Yeah let's bench Yao ming when he hits 3 straight shots and then bring him back in with 6 min to go when the team is down by 20pts! It's like that every game.
I'm still going to be a Rockets fan. I will always be. And I am still going to watch them this year.... UNLESS.....the Houston Rockets LOSE to the CHICAGO BULLS in HOUSTON AGAIN. Then.....I will not know of what I shall do and think of the Rockets.
