    - Lakers vs Nuggets: Lakers
I don't think I should have to say why on this one, but Lakers really are the better team (and hello, Kobe) and Nuggets got no defence.
    - Hornets vs Mavericks: Hornets
Probably a little biased because besides Rockets I'm a big CP3 fan, but yeah come on Chris Paul =D And don't count today's game, if u watched it CP3 was out for like 10+ minutes and Mavs started to catch up and gain a decent lead on the Hornets. I doubt CP3 will be resting on the bench for that long in the playoffs.
    - Spurs vs Suns: Spurs
Gonna be a tough game and hard to say who'll win, Suns are playing really well at the moment and this is the reason they got Shaq. And with Manu out it's gonna hurt the Spurs.
    - Rockets vs Jazz: Rockets
Because I'm a Rockets fan =P T-Mac gets into the second round for the first time, w00t =D

    Rd. 1:

    Lakers in 5
Spurs in 6 (Ginobilli's fine; Nash cannot do anything to stop Parker - Matrix was how they slowed him last year)
    Dallas in 6
Utah in 7 - Houston just too hurt

    WCSF:

Spurs in 6 - Dallas traded two Spur's killers for a player that the Spurs own.
Lakers in 7 - Home Court holds throughout the series

    WCF:

Spurs in 6 - Lakers aren't ready for that yet

So let me get this straight..only san antonio or suns will come out of the first round? how sweet is that..

if spurs lose, then we wont have to hear about spurs "turning it on" during the playoffs...how great they are blah blah

if suns lose then there goes the shaq trade.

then the added possibility of dallas losing again. lol

as far as the rockets are concerned, everyone knows we have no fighting chance. as long as we dont get embarrassed by getting swept or something i am ok.

    Lakers over Nuggets in 5
Mavericks over Hornets in 6 (due to the relative inexperience of most of the Hornet players in the playoffs)
Suns over Spurs in 6 (with Shaq, this becomes a bad matchup for the Spurs)
Jazz over Rockets in 6 (I would really like to be wrong about this but the Jazz have the advantage over us in about 4 out of 5 starting positions plus the better bench and also they know how to cheat and get away with it - all of that is too much to overcome and especially considering we have to play them without Yao)

I think the Lakers will then beat the Jazz in 7 (with the home team winning every game) and the Suns beating the Mavericks in 6. Western finals will be a classic with the Lakers taking it over the Suns in 7. Look for the Lakers to shock the Celtics in the NBA Finals, winning in 6 games.

First of all I hope nobody takes this too seriously, and gets sensitive. I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion and no matter how anybody calls any of the games it is all speculation. But I just want to have some fun with you guys...

Why the hell would anyone here predict the Jazz? Do you get a prize if you are right? All you get is the Rockets are out, and you have to live with the fact that you picked the Jazz.

As long as it's all a guess why not guess for what you want to happen. Pick the Rockets. If you are wrong, then you join everyone else who was wrong, and lose nothing, just like you win nothing if you are correct while picking the Jazz.

Besides if the Rockets win, you look like a chump for not believing in your own team, and have to live with being wrong in your guess. If you pick the JAzz and are correct you still look like you never believed, and win nothing for being right in your guess.

It's a free internet country, so pick who want, but why would you want to pick the Jazz when there is nothing on the line.

Lakers over Nuggets in 6. I thought the Nuggs could've upset the Hornets but they have little chance against Kobe and the Lakers.

Mavs over Hornets in 6. I think the Mavs are the 'dark horse' in the West this year and they WILL (mark my words: will) sneak up on some unsuspecting teams this year. They are FAR better than what they've played like so far this year. Oh, and one other major factor: they're rolling on a high note going into the playoffs, and Dirk is playing with a lot of passion.

Suns over Spurs in 7. I think the Suns have finally 'solved' the Spurs riddle with the Shaq trade (the only reason they made it). Also, it's historically better to catch the Spurs early than later in the playoffs. This will be a golden opportunity for the Suns to get that monkey off their backs early and for good.

Rockets over Jazz in 7. I won't explain why, because it would defy logic :p

    4) Jazz
    5) Rockets

Rockets in a sweep, revenge for last year.

    1) Lakers
    8) Nuggets

Rockets in 6. The Nuggets all get arrested before the start of the series and the Rockets, bored with their easy disposal of the Jazz, decide to play in their place.

    2) Hornets
    7) Mavericks

Rockets in 5. After the Hornets defeat the Mavs in game 1 by 68 points, Cuban gets so angry red in the face that the entire city of Dallas explodes. Always there in a crisis, Houston comes in and disposes of the Hornets in the following 4 games.

    3) Spurs
    6) Suns

They both lose. The NBA decides that both teams suck so bad that they figure it'd be better to just cut their losses.

ok hold up...is this not a prediction thread? are we not predicting who is going to win? and we think the jazz is going to win.

what does that have to do with what team you WANT to win?

Because I'm obviously not afraid to look like a chump. If we do beat the Jazz, the shoe leather will be very tasty and satisfying.

allowing the fan in me to take the seat in our first round matchup. I want to be realistic after that, and think the Jazz would do no better against the Lakers.

I love the Rockets but I'm not a homer. I may be a Rockets fan but I'm also an NBA fan. I pick who I think will win so that if I'm right I can continue evaluating the NBA the way I do, but if I'm wrong I maybe need to rethink how I see matchups in the NBA. That's it man, you seem to be getting a bit sensitive about it.
