Delonte West? Eric can't shoot a 12 footer to save his life Snow? Tyrone only in the NBA cause he fouled A.I all through the finals Lue? Most those guys are weak. You just mentioned a bunch of average run of the mill PGs with the exception of TJ Ford. If they were our starting PGs you would be creating the same list with Rafer included.

This board gives Rafer too much crap. I didn't like the Rockets choice to bring him in originally but Skip grows on you. He is a serviceable PG. If Rafer penetrates more, actually finishes at the rim and dishes off instead of always shooting all of a sudden he goes from hated Clutch board PG to perfect fit. He has great handles and he can get to the bucket. He just tends to take off a bit early for his broke tear drops.

Theres better point guards than Rafer but they are too pricey.

    I vote for the both!
I like Head's 3, as long as he is not guarded closely. Yao's return will benefit him most. He is not PG, period.
RA will keep his PG position, he is the best in the team. As long as he limits his shooting, I'll tolerate his low percentage, even the rain falls. :D
In the clutch, T-mac will be the key: pass to Yao, shoot by himeself, or pass to 3 pointers like Head or Battier, we'll win 99.9% dead locked games.

Haha completely agree my man...hence the pg's i'd take rafer OVER. TJ's assist numbers are inflated by the system he's in and even though rafer's not a good defender i'd rather him sticking the opponents pg than ford. Plus I really dont wanna bash TJ's jumper but its weak...and we're not even gonna discuss Calderon's jumpshot for whoever brought that up. The way i see it is the rockets pg has to be able to do a couple things:
***Handle the rock/Low turnovers----For everything he's not Rafer is a top 5 ball handler in the league, I can count the number of times i've seen him ripped on one hand
***Get the ball to yao---Skip is an exceptional entry passer, he gets Yao the ball when and where he needs it, how quick we forget the struggles of getting the ball to yao b4 he was here. Not giving skip too much credit but i don't think its a coincidence that Yao blew up last year and this one once he got accustomed to playing with rafer, he now gets the ball deep in the post and scores it quickly.
***Hit the spot up 3---Granted he's not money from out there but there's not a lot of pg's that are, and he actually seems to be somewhat clutch in the 4th qtr. He gets alot of wide open looks and should make more than he does but he's still respectable for sure.
***Play solid D---easily his weakest area of the 4 in my eyes. I hate his D but his has improved over last year. Hopefully a couple more around JVG and he'll be a good man to man defender.

And whoever said he's not better than Chucky Atkins PLEASE watch the great chuck play for more than one game. If you think Skip is a streaky shooter watch out for the bricks that start flying when Chucky goes cold and his ball-handling and passing skills are subpar for a PG. There's a reason he's played for 6 teams in 8 yrs...and its not b'c he likes to travel. Just on a side note, Smush Parker has got to be the worst starting point in the league...if he got cut today what team would pick him up????
