Tau had signed the veteran NBA forward on Thursday to a two-month deal with a team option to extend it to the rest of the season. Bowen arrived in Vitoria and was due to make his debut with Tau in time for the upcoming Euroleague Top 16. Instead, he was hospitalized due to anomolies in medical tests taken for the team. He is expected to remain hospitalized a day or two to undergo furthur tests. Bowen (202, 31) is an accomplished defensive player whose last team was Houston of the NBA, where he averaged 1.7 points and 1.2 rebounds in 66 NBA regular season games last season. Bowen has also played for the NBA's Denver Nuggets and Oyak Renault in Turkey since finishing his four-year college career at the NCAA's University of Iowa.
