except for a couple of parker's drives, i didn't think there was much wrong (hell, duncan picked up 3 quick cheap fouls) in terms of favoring anybody. but i did think there were way too many calls. we don't need 80 free throws in any game.
Point blank the grizzlies snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat. The deck was clearly stacked against them. The refs, the crowd, inexperience. It was just a great win.
the grizz fouled a lot no? tony parker isn't going to shoot 4-16 every game. he shot 55% vs the grizz this year. again, grizz fans shouldn't celebrate. without manu, the grizz have a great chance to win this series (but i still would not count the spurs out). with manu, the spurs will win this series in 6.
let grizz fans celebrate, it was a great win. it's not their fault manu is injury prone. I wish everyone could be healthy (including Gay) but that's not the case.
yeah this franchise has sucked for years. let them celebrate. they havent gotten very many moments like this.
I missed all but the last 10 seconds of the game. Can someome summarize it for me? I saw the box score so please go a little beyond that. After living in Houston for 25 years, I just went to my first crawfish boil and it was worth it.
3 years in a row Manu has been injured going into the playoffs. when it's becoming a regular occurrence it shouldn't be an excuse in my opinion.
Guess what if the grizzlies do win this series, (I know you can't conceive of it) they are 3-1 against the thunder this year. I'm just saying. Keep writing this team off as the same team that lost those 12 playoff games in a row that happened 5-7 years ago, with totally different players, are in for a rude surprise. What is the percentage again of the team that wins the first game of the series, going on to win that series?
Gasol and Randolph both went off, combined went 19 for 25 from the field. Officials were calling the game closely, especially against Memphis. Memphis were up with a decent lead but they missed 4 free throws in a row and gave up to 2 wide open 3s on the other end of to Bonner. Seemed like a major choke job until Mr. Intangibles Battier hit a clutch 3 to put them up 1.
Randolph and Gasol dominated the paint. Mike Conley outplayed Tony Parker. Nobody seems to be talking about that but Conley came to play today. He also is the one that setup the open 3 for Battier. Also OJ Mayo struggled earlier but once he got hot for a little stretch in the 4th the Grizz took off. As I said earlier OJ Mayo is the x-factor in this series for Memphis.
When I saw the replay of that pass, it was absolutely perfect and it had to be as the spurs were closing out on Shane. Conley's pass was unbelievable.
Coach Pop: "Can you tell us about that Battier 3?" "What would you like to know about it?" "Well can you tell us how it developed?" "He caught it and shot it." lol
Yes it was. I'm shocked Conley isn't getting talked about a lot. Randolph and Gasol dominance overshadowed Conley's play but his play had a lot to do with Gasol getting some easy baskets.
