I actually would love to see a Golden State Warriors thrashing. Wouldn't hurt me at all seeing us lose by 30 points each game. It is the push management needs to realise things are *****ed as they are with this team.
They already know this, why you think they've kept JBB and did so many moves to cut salary? Management has given up on this season months ago.
um, you have that exactly backwards. The team has to stop having loser mentalities, it rubs off on their fans.
um, I'm guessing that you're not actually a fan of GOOD basketball. You drastically underestimate the amount of pain this team has inflicted on genuine basketball fans this season, who appreciate good basketball when they see it and abhor the atrocities that the 2015-2016 Rockets have performed on a near-nightly basis now since October. Is it unreasonable to hope for a quick and merciful death, as opposed to the torture of a longer, drawn out extension of this obscenity of a season against GSW? I think not.
I have spare time to kill, so forgive me lol but basically, here's my recap and understanding of stuff 7. DAL 41-38 8. UTAH 39-40 ---------------- 9. HOU 38-41 Despite all these ass showings by the Rockets, they're only ONE game behind a playoff spot. Wow, imagine that. All those thrown games (I sound like a broken record but ehhh) we could've locked a spot or something by now if we took care of business in those UTAH, DAL, CHI, PHX games but nah. Again, DAL is unlikely to be reached. They only trail MEM by 1 game. 3 games left: @LAC @UTAH vs. SA It's good that one of them will lose in the Jazz game. But again, I doubt they lose all those 3 especially with the Clipps/Spurs basically locked in their respective positions but who knows. UTAH is the more likely realistic target. Their remaining games: @DEN vs. DAL @LAL While 2 of those are lottery teams that have nothing else to fight for, expect those too still be tough for the Jazz. Again, the Jazz-Mavs game will be crucial for both but more valuable for Utah. The Lakers WILL fight for Kobe's last games in front of their arena, so despite them sucking, that might be a tough game for them. All the Rockets need to do is win out vs. LAL, @ MIN, vs. SAC (easier said than done lol) and Utah to lose 1 and we'd automatically make it in. Even if the Rockets lose 1 of the 3, they could still make it in if Utah only wins 1 of their 3. Even if the Rockets proceed to suck and win 1 of the 3, they technically STILL have a chance!! (If Utah loses out that is, which might seem unlikely) Prepare for the ride, playoff vs. non-playoff Rocket fans.
What do people want the playoffs for? For a miracle chance to beat the Warriors? For an improbable chance to be close in every game and maybe push the Warriors to 7 games? Whatever happens, were not winning a championship. You're rooting for us to show fire and heart. That fire and heart could end up costing us big in the long run with a JBB extension and choice to stick with this same roster for next year. Of course the likeliest scenario is getting absolutely embarrassed. A lottery pick and a chance to light a fire in James Harden to come back better next year does us more good than making the playoffs and being shamed in front of all of Westeros. The Rockets dropped the soap in the shower. Now it's just a matter of how you pick it back up. Making the playoffs is choosing to bend over. You might as well help even more by spreading your booty butt cheeks.
playoffs are fun because it's exciting and anything can happen. Worst case we get swept by the warriors and people will realize how bad we are and change is needed anyways, whether we make the playoffs or not
Im tired of people saying "make the playoffs because the draft is weak" I remember when people said the same thing about the 2011 draft. You know who was in that draft? Oh yeah thats right Kawhi Leonard. You know the guy Morey passed on like an idiot for Marcus Morris when SF was clearly a need. Bottom line is if you a good gm. You can find talent anywhere.
