Jags end to this season very reminiscent of Titans’ end to last season including with one eliminating the other in the last games. To hell with them both. The future is now Houston

    Texans 2024 Opponents:
    Titans x 2
    Jags x 2
    Colts x 2
    Dolphins
    Pats
    Bills
    Jets
    Chiefs
    Ravens
    Packers
    Bears
    Lions
    Vikings
NFC East winner (Cowboys vs. Eagles).

Definitely a lot of “good” matchups there that will likely give them plenty of national TV (or 3:25 marquee game) possibilities.

    Time to play the Browns.

I wouldn’t give too much precedence on the last visit.

The Texans were without WAJ/Greenard/Rankins/Cashman. That’s their 3 best pass rushers and top level LB. Huge pieces that will be expected to be back in the rematch.

I think between that, and Stroud returning that it should be a much different game.

Remember, if we can beat the Browns, the pick we send to Arizona will be after the pick we receive from Cleveland.

A lot of people thought it would be top 3.

Not set yet, but taking a stab at the playoff matchups after the early window: GB/SEA/NO @ DAL, LA RAMS @ DET, PHI @ TB (set), PITT @ BUFF/MIA winner, BUFF/MIA loser @ K.C, CLEV @ HOU (set). I think that’s right, but not sure whether Pittsburgh can move up to 6. Anyway, let’s assume that’s correct. I think we can pencil BUFF/MIA @ K.C. in as a prime time matchup either Sunday or Monday night. I’m going to guess RAMS @ DET will be the other prime time matchup. GB/SEA/NO @ DAL feels like a good candidate for the early Sunday triple-header kick, but you never with Dallas’ large following. If it’s not that, I’d assume it’s PITT @ BUFF/MIA. So my guess is Houston will play either the 3:30-ish kick Saturday or Sunday

I remember saying when it happened that I liked the Texans betting on themselves to be better than the Browns, Even if it doesn't work out exactly that way, that kind of mentality is how they went from worst to first in their division.

zero chance they make HOU/CLE a primetime game. Will likely be an early game Saturday or Sunday (hopefully Sunday, we are beat to hell and need rest)

It’s also pretty hard in this league to beat teams two times in a row, even if all things remain equal.

The 3:30 window on Sunday will go to the more marquee team.

Unfortunately Texans vs Browns is the least marquee possible game of all the matchups… both in terms of national following and media market size.

Now they have the chance to stop the slide.
