Most of the Rockets players have no playoff experience. Does it matter to anyone that Yao Ming has playoff experience (even if it is in the CBA) and has won a championship? Also to note Yao Ming actually had much better numbers in the championship series! It would seem that Ming performs better under pressure and in big game situations. Isn't that one of the things that the scouts, coaches, and GMs look at when evaluating players? Ming just might be one of the influences that not only help us get to the playoffs, but actually help us handle the situation once we get there! As for Nachbar, does anyone know how well his Italian team did in their league? I had heard that they were a good team, but did they go to the playoffs, or even win the championship, or something along those lines? Could be that there is even more reason to get excited about these two picks for the Rocks! mrwigit
Nachbar has more playoff experience. He has competed in much better leagues for 7 years. Awards/Achievements: European Championships Under22 -96-97 Slovenian League Champion -98 Slovenian All-Star Game -99 Slovenian Cup Finalist -00 Slovenian League Finalist -00 European U20 Champion -00 ULEB Euroleague Quarterfinals -01 Italian A1 League FinalFour -01 Euroleague Semifinals -02 Italian Serie A Champion -02 In China, the only one good team is Army Rockets. And Yao only won one title.
I know this sounds crazy, but for this UPCOMING SEASON I'm a little more excited about Nachbar than Ming. If he's the next Peja... With Boki bringing it up and Cat and Steve on the wings... it's over.
redao How did Nachbar do in these competitions? This could be very exciting with two new players with skills and with playoff experience! Go Rockets!!! mrwigit
He was a bench player last year. He was #2 in his team this year. but I found this: http://www.eurobasket.com/ITAcoach.asp?CoachID=4870
