In 179 playoff games, Jordan was held under 20 points only four times, and never scored as few as 15. In 80 appearances in the Eastern Conference finals or NBA Finals - the more critical rounds against the most disciplined and determined defenses - it happened to Jordan just twice, and only once in a loss, when he tallied just 18 in Game 5 against Detroit in 1989. He responded by scoring 32 in Game 6. just putting it out there in light of tonight's offensive explosions by dirk and durant.
What was Jordan Average Free Throw Attempts per Playoff games? Cursory glance is about 9~10 per game. He hits his 'throws . . . he half way there. Rocket River
He got past his man consistently and earned a giant portion of his free throws. He obviously got preferential treatment but I don't think it is as egregious as some make it out to be. Great players get to the line. Especially in the playoffs
It can go hand and hand . . sort of an egg and chicken thing Once you got the REP of getting by your man .. . . then you can become untouchable. I think we all seen situation where a STAR simply misses a shot or blows a lay up . . . a foul seems to get called because. .. well . . he too good to missed it something must have happened?????? If a star cannot get around a guy .. it MUST be the guy holding or doing something illegal . . .regular GOOD D cannot be holding 'him'. So . . .. regular GOOD D gets you penalized and the D is lessened to not foul out. . BOOM they looking all world again . . . Rocket River
