OK, I'm ready to be flamed like no one's ever been flamed before:

I'd like to announce the first trade in the Playoff Disappointment League:

Dallas Astros trade Randy Johnson and Tony Womack to the Ostin Longhorns for Barry Zito and Brad Radke.

I just wanted my favorite player on my team, and I think Radke/Zito can equal Johnson (who's also due an injury...jeez, the guy's a machine).

So flame away...I've been preparing myself for this ever since I approached Major with this trade.

    This doesn't make any sense.

If you wanted Zito, why didnt you just draft him with the 2nd pick?

This doesn't affect me because RJ wouldnt have been there at 12. However, I wonder how the people picking 3 -5 feel?

By the way, are you the commisioner? Is this a lasiez -faire -any -trade goes type league.

Just to clarify, he got a 10th round pick out of it (and lost a 13th). This trade was initially:

    RM95's #2 overall and 13th round pick

    for

My #6 overall and 10th round pick

The players are just what worked out as being available at those spots. He wanted Zito, but figured he'd still be available at #6 so he moved down 4 spots in exchange for the 10th/13th round swap.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty clear.

I knew that Zito would still be available at 6, so I thought I'd get an extra pick in a higher round out of it, even though I probably could've gotten higher than a 10th round pick. It's the same concept when any team trades down in a draft.

I guess. Maybe it's because I don't think Brad Radke is any good but that's my own personal bias.

At this point, I'd be happy if we could just move this draft along.

RIET, I won't lie and say I'm not pissed at myself for only getting a 10th rounder, but I do think Radke will have a good year.

Tell you what, if UT makes it to the final four and you get me a ticket, you can have both Miguel Tejada and Jeff Kent.

I'm not going to kick up a fuss or anything, so take this for what it's worth, but this trade would definitely never have been allowed in the other league.

    Is #2 and #143 for #6 and #115 that unrealistic? I'm just curious -- I don't do many pre-draft type trades.
