Screw tanking. We're not going to end up with a savior by being the #9 seed instead of the #12. All that does is tell your players and fans that we don't need to fight to the bitter end. Every coach worth a darn pays close attention to who keeps playing hard at the end of a rout. Same thing here. I don't want to reward Swift for being abysmal all season by letting him have a starter's spot and minutes for the last 4 weeks. He doesn't care about the team, he doesn't have any professional pride, and taking the spot and minutes from a guy that has been a rock, if only a limited rock, for us sends a crappy message. Cold fact is, this team is absolutely dependent on McGrady's ability to create opportunities for others. We have virtually no one who is able to get their own shot with consistency, and that allows defences to put our offense in a sleeper hold. Our biggest need, IMO, is a swingman that can create on offense. I doubt we could get him, but I would throw the entire MLE at Trezor Ariza. Evan
Aren't the top 10 all in the "lottery," giving us a chance to be anywhere between picks #1-10? Maybe I'm wrong but I thought finishing #10 would give us a much better chance of a real good pick, then a #11 seed would.

Finish with pick #12 gives us a 0.90% chance Finish with #9 gives us a 3.60% chance the Knicks and Hawks are fighting over a 20% vs 25% chance. Screw tanking. We're going to lose alot either way, don't let the players take the easy way out. Show some pride and dignity. Evan
Give the rooks more crucial minutes. No purpose in wasting it out on Stro/Howard and etc. See what the kids can do. It'll atleast be more entertaining to watch.

Tiebreaker Status: A win over Sacramento gives Houston the tiebreaker. --Loss means it goes to conference record. (not good) New Orleans has the tiebreaker over Houston A win over Utah gives Houston the tiebreaker --Loss means Utah wins the tiebreaker A win over Golden State gives Houston the tiebreaker --Loss means it goes to conference record. (good, but odds of both teams going 11-2 and 12-3 to end the season is pretty damn unlikely, as is even one of them ending on that run)
The better question is, why are YOU still posting here? As long as there's still a possibility mathematically, this thread will be updated.
If we get a bomb lotto pick then it'll cure everything. No one in SA cares about the Spurs tanking to get Duncan. No one remembers the season before that landed Yao....
For us to make it in this scenario, New Orleans would have to lose one more game and go 8-7 for us to be ahed of them since they own the tiebreaker.
nevermind, it's final. F the Jazz (that's more like it, having to root for Utah felt dirty) Cato: The 41-41 column is just what each team would have to go in order to reach .500. But you're right, we'd have to have a better record than NO to get over them.
