Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but don't you guys get that sinking feeling that is not meant to be (i.e. Rockets making the playoffs?). Really a pity if we don't because I truly believe we could surprise a lot of teams in the playoffs. Aldeman has this team playing as well as it can be, at times like a freaking well-oiled machine.
Huge day moing up for us tomorrow. Our game against Miami and mephis plays the Spurs. NOLA plays Lakers and Suns play Mavs. We could be .5 games behind Memphis if things go our way. Otherwise if we lose, then Memphis and Phoenix wins we are screwed. Thats some very crtical games. Should be an exciting day, Im nervous though.
Looking at the schedules, I think we need 45 wins. Memphis wins 45, too, and we win the tie-breaker. That means we need to go 7-3 in our last 10 games. Not going to be easy, but we have a chance.
Best case scenario, We win, while NO, Memphis, Phx lose. Scenarios we live with.. We win, and so do they.. or we lose and so do they. Worse Case Scenario.. We lose, while they win. I just wanted to type that out
We are 8 point underdogs against the Heat while the Grizz are 2 point favorites against the Spurs. Odds aren't in our favor that's for sure.
Well, I'm not going to set myself up for heartbreak to believe this team will make playoffs this season. We're playing well, but just too little too late. It sucks that the Grizzlies and Hornets are winnings close games but credit to them.
Memphis won vs SA We lost vs Miami Portland @ OKC right now on ESPN though we arent catching Portland New Orleans @ LAL later tonight Dallas @ Phoenix later tonight(ESPN)
i think the nail is finally in the coffin with memphis beating San antonio today. it was a good run, but they waited too late
i think are best case scenario now is just to catch new orleans, theyve got l.a. tonight, then portland, and still got 2 games against memphis and one more against us that is 5 possible losses
I'm still watching the Hornets...just look at who they play. NOH play Lakers Blazers Grizzlies Pacers Rockets Suns Grizzlies Jazz Mavs There is not one game in there that is against a weak team. They can easily lose 5 games in there. Blazers and Grizzlies are going to give them a fight, the Pacers need every win the can get. I think the Grizz will move up to 7th. Rockets play Nets Philly Spurs Hawks Kings Hornets (big one) Clippers Mavs Twolves Rockets have the easier schedule while Hornets are not getting any nights off, nearly all of those teams are playing for something and The Lakers right now are playing motivated. I will be beyond mad if the Hornets somehow beat the Lakers.
I think at worst NOH goes 4-5, that includes losses against Houston and 2 against Memphis and losses against all other playoff teams except a win against Dallas' scrubs in the season finale. That means the Rockets would have to go 9-0 to go 1 game up on them (necessary to avoid tiebreaks). With that said, the Rockets actually have a shot at going 9-0 but I wouldn't count on it. Rockets can still catch Memphis. If New Orleans can win those 2 games against Memphis I could see Memphis going about 5-3, meaning Rockets have to go 8-1. Either way, I think Rockets must go at worst 8-1 barring a collapse by Memphis or New Orleans.
