i don't know why but i just have a feeling that we may fumble the next several games it all depends on how the heat game goes, if we fight till the end to only lose by single digits like 3, i am sure they will lose one of the back to back next......... if we do fumble, we shouldn't blame anyone but oursevles for all the losses that happened early in the season, sigh
Other teams may get the playoffs, but we get the excitement of trying to get in the playoffs. We just need to keep winning. Believe. We're playing well. We might not loose again.
I think this road trip will be a make or break/do or die scenario for us as far as making the playoffs is concerned. Miami then back to back on the road with the last one agasint Philly. We are not a good back to back team and we are a bad on the road team. We really need to come out of this road trip at least 2-1. Phoenix is right on our tail and Memphis aint losin. We cant keep relying on other teams to lose. We need to rely on US winning.
Lose - the opposite of winning. Loose - the opposite of tight. I don't think anyone's being sarcastic, so it's lose.
Outside of the Jordan Hill as starting center out of desperation period in early January, the Rockets have been taking the wood out on teams. According to Hollinger's Power Ranking stats, the Rockets have the 4th best scoring differential in the last 25% of the season. I am excited about this team. They may not make the playoffs due to the big hole they created early in the season, but the future is looking very good. Lord, help the backup centers of the NBA if the Rockets can get a center that could force Chuck Hayes to the bench.
I wasn't being a downer. I was making a comment based on the way both teams have been playing lately. Memphis is playing well, Boston isn't. Is that hard to understand? Happy crow eating...
New Orleans won tonight. Okafor hit a circus shot to send it into overtime. However West went down with an injury. They took him out in a wheel chair. I hate to see anyone get injured, but that's going to hurt NO chances.
If some how we finish 8-2... it basically gurantees a playoff spot... 7-3 would mean better than 50 percent shot... 6-4 gives us less than 25 percent chance... so basically 7-3 or bust
Here is how I see it playing out: Houston: Current Record - 38-34 Wins - @NJ, @Phi, Atl, Sac, @NO, LAC, @Min Losses - @Mia, SA, Dal Final Record - 45-37 New Orleans: Current Record - 41-31 Wins - Memphis, Indiana, Phoenix, Utah Losses - @Pho, @LAL, Por, Hou, @Mem, @Dal Final record - 45-37 Memphis: Current Record - 40-32 Wins - GS, Min, LAC, Sac, NO, LAC Losses - @Chi, SA, @NO, @Por Final Record - 46-36 So the final standings, since NO has the tie-breaker, would be: #7 - Memphis (46-36) #8 - New Orleans (45-37) #9 - Houston (45-37) What we need is for Memphis to win that game @NO, which would give us the #8 seed, if the rest plays out like above. We could also hope everything goes the same and Memphis loses to either: GS, Min, LAC, Sac or the second LAC game. This would make it a 3 way tie @ 45-37, which would give the Rockets the tie-breaker only if Memphis sweeps NO and we beat NO as well (thanks SooneRockStro). Obviously NO could easily lose a game they're "supposed" to win, or the Rockets could win a game they're "supposed" to lose, and that could change everything. As of now I would say what I listed above is the most likely scenario, at least in my opinion. Pugs
We only get the 3-way tie if Memphis sweeps the final 2 games against NO and we also beat NO, otherwise NO wins that particular 3-way tie. However, Houston of course still has the H2H tiebreaker against Memphis.
