There's no way you can say we are in complete rebuilding mode. Like i said, we're getting young guys in hopes they can be role guys now and step up later...if we were completely rebuilding tracy wouldn't have made it past this summer. Andersend would not have been traded for. Scola would also be gone or being shopped around. You can't say we're in complete rebuilding mode when our best players are in their 30s and we're still open to keeping them for the next few yrs.
I'm thinking we'll see a lot more of Pops in the rotation also. He was very active on the boards and the offense as well. I like Conroy but he's basically.... a poor man's Kyle Lowry. lol
2 preseason games, and it is clear? I think they both should be playing 30 minute per game, I really don't care how they do it.
I like McGrady. But I don't see him starting unless he is a legit 100% unless we start the season badly, which given our schedule is possible.
This. Say what you want about him but he has game and has proven that he can get his shots. I really hope Morey was serious about adding him once he gets healthy.
Coach 'A' has to rethink his plan, because it is not going to work out exactly as he planned. He is stretching things too far if he thinks he can make Trevor Ariza into a player who makes his own moves. Ariza has always been a player who needs to be set up by the playmaker of the team. Playing with Brooks does not enable Ariza to be 100% effective since Brooks creates mostly for himself. When Tracy McGrady gets back Ariza will be able to play his true game! That is if Tracy is willing to play the playmaker role which is obviously missing on our present team. I just hope Coach 'A' has his eyes wide open and makes the right decissions!
After two preseason games, I am ready to start Budinger and Battier at the 2/3 and bring Ariza off the bench with Lowry and Landry and let the bench fly up and down in a dunkathon.
Not a bad idea. Budinger is better than I thought defensively. He still is not good but he isn't Steve Novak either and I think he will improve quite a bit defensively. I think I was wrong about his lateral quickness too. I think he can stay with most of the SG in the league. Some nights he'll just get blown away by the quickness of opposing SG but we have Ariza, Lowry and even Battier to pick up the slack for him. Ariza definitely needs to be on the court with penetrating players or a dominant post player to be effective. This cat cannot dribble or shoot with a hand in his face to save his life. Wow, he isn't as effective as he was when he was playing with a team of All Stars. Who would have ever guessed.
pops is trying to get by on his athletisism i noticed. I hope he can learn from our good hardworking big men, and contribute
