Well, Clutch, I fear the writing is on the wall. Now that it is known that some posters know more about basketball than others there is no point to ClutchCity.com even existing. Seriously...everyone on here hasn't played D1 or NBA ball of some sort? What a bunch of losers. To answer the original question of the thread...here I go, I am an idiot (but everyone knows that): Never played organized ball. In high school I lost something like 10-2 in a 1 on 1 game against a guy who eventually went on to lead the nation in assists at ASU. He wasn't even trying that hard. I was decent growing up but jacked up both my knees by my freshman year in high school...ending all athletics for me. So I was left to satiate my trophy lust through debate and the like. I was recruited for various big and small colleges but ignored them and did my own thing. Now I fear I can never post in basketball related forums again. Sorry to disappoint, denniscd.
You know what IC, I have been reading this guy's posts on and off for about a week now. Honestly, with his attitude I could care less what he has to say about insider info. I dont care to read it. If he is the only insider we have(besides you) I would rather speculate and guess and be able to carry a decent conversation.
well thats it...ignorant conversation vs. having the facts. because i stand up for what i believe= im riding someone's nuts. yeah i do know more about basketball because im in the business of basketball...you know more about your occupation than i do...i dont dispute that...why...you have more experiences...that doesnt mean you dont have some valid opinions, but experience does matter...not boasting, just wanted to know everyones experiences because a lot here state opinions like they are facts...
Played in junior college on a scholarship, did not want to be redshirted in a specific D1 school. Have played alot of pickup ball against many NBA players including Shaquille O'neal. Coached in highschool. I'm a diehard rocket fan, cuz Del Harris testified in my behalf in a basketball court case over playing on the varsity as a freshmen and going to several basketball camps during my 8th grade year, it was against the UIL rules in texas to go to basketball camp and play on the varsity that same season. I profess not to know anymore than anyone else on this board and I believe I learn something new about basketball everytime I log onto this sight. There are some very insightfull and down right intelligent posters in here no matter how much basketball experience they have.
Man, I know what you mean. I've been on an undefeated team (8th grade) and my Little Dribblers All-Star Team won the Little Dribblers State Championship in 1974. I know WINNING basketball. I can't stand all these people who say they played for losers or the wimps who got injured. What would they know about WINNING basketball. Just look at history and you can see that the people who really messed up the sport are the ones who never played WINNING basketball... guys like James Naismith and Abe Saperstein. In the modern era, you have losers like Hakeem Olajuwon who had substantially less WINNING basketball experience than I had at the same age of 18. You have really helped me see the light regarding this forum and basketball in general.
College intramurals runner ups to the Jackson State Univ football team. Class 5A high school basketball 2 guard. I still can shoot the rock in my sleep.
Being an insider doesn't mean you have to be an extreme dick about it. I don't doubt what you say. I just could care less in the manner you say it. But eh, what do you care, this is after all and internet board.
wait, is your logic saying that it was okay for JVG to be a coach because he had experience being a coach?? That makes no sense. The point was, according to your theory, JVG shouldn't be an NBA coach because he didn't play in the NBA. But you're arguing that it is okay for JVG to be an NBA coach because he has experience coaching in the NBA? How does that make sense?
I actually find it odd for someone who has been here for so long with so few posts to start blowing up now. Why post so much now if you have had so much to say all these years? Your posts are mostly negative trashing of CD and other posters. I just don't get it. Oh....I always sucked at basketball. I'm just a simple fan who has most likely rooted for the Rockets far longer that you.
OK , I think I've worked it out. SonKhan has a close friend (denniscd) who is friends with a Rockets employee who works directly under Jay Namoc, ie likely a ballboy or cleaner? That would explain denniscd's loyalty to Namoc and the anger towards CD as he alleged CD has not kept a promise to Namoc. So he has a contact but not a real insider.
like i said, i cant get mad at people who just dont know. and i expect more lashing out by those who cant argue points, but just want to argue. an insider knows inside info...ive just tried to provide you guys info...thats all...i didnt post as much before because i just let all the misinformation go...now im trying to point out the wrongs that i know are wrong despite the perceptions of the masses who are easily duped by the media.
played basketball for 10 years. after high school got a few scholarship offers to small schools but didnt take them. My shoulders and lower back are completely messed up. Permenant damage to both. I pride myself in knowing a lot about basketball. I coach at a high school now hoping to continue coaching eventually get to the college level.. any size. BTW i agree with some of the other posters.. idc if this guy is an insider... id rather not read his stuff. You dont know more then everyone here, just because some of the people arent in the buisness doesnt mean they still dont carry a passion for the game. My senior year of high school, our best player transfered out and i was forced to carry the load basically by myself. i watched and broke down tape from every opponent we would have that upcoming season. i did this the following year for my old school as a side project while i was going to school. just because i wasnt in the buisness of basketball doesnt mean the passion faded or that the knowledge wasnt still growing....
I played ball at East Illinois. Never coached though. Actually I played some ball with Gary Payton in High School back in the Bay Area still talk to him every now and again.
that must have been some high school team...didnt greg foster play on that team as well. i think payton wanted to initially go to st. john's and then he settled at oregon state. was he a late developer B.I.G?
He was always the best player on our team but I do not think any one thought he would be a great Nba'er. Actually back then I played against Jason Kidd and all the hype in the area was about him. 2500 people used to show up to a preseason game just to watch Jason play.
