No, it goes to how 'max' is defined. JJ was worth the max to Hawks, they thought, because losing him was too 'expensive'.
I put 3 lists for a reason. Max, near max, and others that deserve big contracts. Basically 20m, 15m, 10m or so. If you consider 10m near max, then that's your problem. Yeah Bynum isn't great, but he's a big body that has some talent, and we know teams overpay for big bodies. The only reason I'd consider taking him off the list would be his health concerns. Did it ever occur to you that if those other players weren't taking so many shots, he may be able to do more? If you're going to b****, then how about you put out your own lists? Pugs
Good thread. I guess that would depend on what the "max" is, and honestly it becomes subjective once you start deciding which players are worth that amount. If the max is 20M, I would say very few players are worth that amount. LBJ for sure would be worth even more than that amount, while others like Melo IMHO wouldn't be worth more than 12M a year. IMHO the only max players in the league are: 1. LBJ (biggest bargain in the NBA) 2. DH (second biggest bargain in the NBA imho) 3. CP3 4. Dirk and maybe: 5. KG 6. Durant 7. Griffin 8. Rose I personally don't think Wade, DW, Kobe and Melo are worth 20M a year. They just aren't as consistent as the players mentioned above.
you think Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Garnett are more deserving of the Max than Kobe Bryant and D-Wade? Could you offer some more explanation.
There are at least 15 players in the league that are worth a max contract. There are more people making a max contract.
