Ok, I'm asking you, who's on the table..... wait, youve already said you won't tell me.... ack! It better be good damnit
Actually, it sounds more to me like EG is the player that some think could be the future PF if paired with the right SF. ROCKET!!!'s comment that we're getting the SF Rice was supposed be leads me to think that Rashard (a deadeye long distance shooter a la Rice in his prime) is in the mix. Who wanted MoT real bad before he signed with the Rox? The Sonics, that's who ...
WoK, Reread my comment on Griff. Honestly, Seattle is not in the cards. They have nothing to deal with at this point. They lack picks and Lewis by himself does not work under the CBA. Besides, do you really want to deal with Seattle anyway. We have a history of dealing with specific teams and screwing other teams. eg. Toronto and NY (and don't read into this that we are dealing with either......are you kidding. Why in the hell would we want anything from NY. They have become the running joke around here! )
LMAO!!!!!!! Your' kill'in me REIT. This is Scott Layden calling for Mr. Dawson. He won't take my calls anymore? Okay, Okay, wait....tell him I'm offering him our first round pick for every other year for infinity plus Spree! He has to take that! OHHHH, please, please, please! I'm gonna lose my job if he doesn't take that! Whine, sniff, sniff
Sounds like I just need to go to bed. Thanks for sharing what you can, ROCKET!!! We understand the need to be cryptic at times (see my post in the Cuttino blabbermouth thread).
I'm thinking Chicago has to be involved in some way. I don't see Krause standing idly by while the Rockets trade the #1 pick to a team that will pick the point guard that Krause covets so much in Jay Williams.
WoK, For the record.... Make no mistake, Cat did what he was told. Three people control this organization and thats it. If someone decides they do not like that; they have been sent packing. End of story. Play the game. Information is power. Misinformation breeds nervousness and works to your advantage. That statement was timely. Notice the deal increased thereafter.
I don't think there's anything in ROCKET!!!'s post that implies we're trading the Number One pick. OK, I'm really going to bed now.
Well I just don't see any possible way any team would take on Rice's salary unless the #1 pick was involved.
Well, if Cat was following orders I'll feel a lot better about that situation. I guess we'll know on draft day. Like you say, the franchise has a history of unceremoniously dumping people who cross the company line in public or in private (Maxwell, Rhodes, Mario, Two Sandwiches, Pippen, etc.) I wouldn't expect Cat to be exempt from those rules. So we'll know on draft day when the dust settles and Cat is still around. Sounds like he will be, and he was being a good soldier. I'd feel much better if that's the case.
!!!- So, basically the holdovers are Francis, Moochie, Cuttino, Griffin, Cato? I'd be happier if we got a true PG instead of Moochie. The thing I don't get- are the mentions of Collier and T-Mo...both make low salaries, and neither have much trade value at all-unless they're cap add-ons, in which case the deal is practically waiting for the ink to dry. How solid is your information? (ie, how high up is it coming from?) I'm interested in seeing what you say we're doing-I just don't understand why we'd do a makeover at PF of all places. If we decide to trade the pick, here's how I hope we do it- #1 pick, KT, #15, Moochie FOR Odom, Maggette, #8, #12, rights to Marko Jaric (assume he'll sign). Draft Hilario and Borchardt at 8 and 12, and Marcus Taylor (or another PG) at 38. Borchardt/Cato/Hilario Griffin/Mo Taylor Odom/Rice/Morris Mobley/Maggette Francis/Jaric/Ma. Taylor That's before free agency...maybe throw in a vet 4/5 like Scot Williams or even Oakley.
Het ROCKET, coattailing off of NIKEstrad's post, do u have any information on Borchardt. What do the Rockets thing of him, what does everyone else think about him? I have no idea how he plays, but if we trade the pick and not get Ming, we do need someone else to hopefully replace Cato.
Thanks, Rocket!!!, for the clues... if I follow them correctly, that means a PF from Chicago and a SF from LAC. So, I am assuming that its Curry (or Chandler?) and Odom, without losing Francis, Mobely, Griffin or Cato. Further reading your posts... 2 trades, the first with LAC, the second with Chicago... First trade is Rice/KT/Collier and #1 for Odom/Maggette/pick(s). LAC takes Williams. Second trade is to Chicago, who picks Ming, and trades us Curry/? for Taylor/TMo/pick(s) ... (would we pick up Fizer in the deal?) We end up with: Cato/? Curry/Griffin Odom/Maggette Mobely/Torres Francis/Norris Am I getting warm? or did I miss it on the PF from Chicago? Or is Griffin our future all-star PF? I hope you view him as backup... and future value... Would we end up with any draft picks out of all this? I assume we'd still have our second pick, maybe take a foreign center...
THis is fun. Sherlock, I have: Trade 2: Portland gets MoT and Maggette or something (TMo?) Houston gets Wallace and filler For some reason I just don't think that Curry or Chandler fit the description of Massive Upgrade in the PF area.
"Original Quote by Rocket!!! ............MoT is a very good PF, now it is time for a great one and we have the means to make that happen while obtaining a very good SF (what Rice was supposed to be..yea right!)." Rocket!!! statement above regarding a great PF leads me back to Garnett. Garnett and Odom to the Rockets? Wow, I must be dreaming. I better go to bed before I start sleep walking.
I'm wondering the same thing, guys... it doesn't make sense for the massive upgrade to be the same age as Griffin... and maybe the Chicago camps calling was referring to the Moody Bible Institute tryouts, where a lot of the GMs will be, facilitating discussions, and this was one of the curve balls Rocket!!! said he'd be throwing... Wallace DOES make the most sense, since Curry isn't any further along than Griffin ... Monstrous PF upgrades, that would be with us for another 10 years, could be Duncan, Nowitski, Webber, Brand, J.O'neal, Martin, McDeyss, Wallace, and maybe SAR ... Based on hints, it wouldn't be McDeyss or Brand, and noone could even hope to get Duncan or Nowitski, and Webber and Martin are doubtful, since they are in the playoffs, and Indiana is building around Oneal, that just leaves Wallace or SAR, and SAR would be too soft for us ... so, that would seem to be Wallace. But would Wallace last another 10 years?
