IMO that is not a bad list. Still would be a top 10 player in the league. Also, Melo can win championship with right personnel. Give Harden someone who can share ball handling responsibilities and a coach that can use the personnel right instead of running same plays, Harden can win one. Team should add a little midrange game as well.
As much as I am disappointed in Harden, Lebron and Curry aren't exactly having spectacular postseason either. They are just as much struggling, albeit against better defensive teams. And Westbrook couldn't even lead his team into the playoffs. I'll probably take Brow, CP3, Durant over Harden but that's about it. I'm not so sure about Lebron because he seems a bit past his prime, and Harden is relatively young so he could still improve on his weaknesses and grow as a player. I just can't put all the blame on Harden when there is no structure to our game on both ends of the floor and that is entirely McHale's fault. We are playing street ball when the other team is playing professional NBA basketball. I just want to see Harden perform under legitimately A-class NBA coach. I want to see how he fares when there is an actual game plan and system that we can refer to. Until then, I will not give up on him. Not Yet.
I agree age/contract is a heavy factor. CP3 is iffy, but I like my chances with Lebron getting me a title in his lifetime than Harden. Also, you really underrate Gasol. If I'm making a playoff roster hes my C
how many times are people going to use this as an excuse. he's had more than enough playoff experience under his belt.
