He averages 1.8 turnovers because he shoots the ball everytime he has possession. The part about his defense was laughable. It looked like the author copy/pasted it from a Chuck Hayes article :)

Luis Scola is "quietly" having an excellent season. Among forwards, he's 9th in the league at 9.8 rebounds a game, in only 29.4 minutes. That's 15.9 rebounds per 40 minutes. He's tied with Okafor and ahead of guys like Amare, Udonis Haslem, Odom, David Lee, and Camby, to name a few. Luis has had 5 double doubles in 8 games, while shooting over 51% from the field. He's started out slowly from the FT line, but I expect him to end up over 75% for the season (shot 76% last year). Scola's also been solid on the defensive end, playing very good team defense, and has been a pain in the arse for the opposition. Not too shabby a start by the Argentine!

    VIVA SCOLA!!!

i think some fans tend to rate players who have high athleticism higher than they deserve; and those who are not highly athletic get rated lower than they should.

think about the threads we have here... ab, gay, landry, scola... etc.

    athleticism ain't everything in basketball.

I hope that I am wrong, I just do not see Scola's also been solid on the defensive end this year. He has been eating alive by Dirk on the Dallas game, and can not stop that young center on the Lakers game on almost every play, I thought that Landry plays better defense than Scola this year, but I may be wrong without looking at the data.

Dirk eats up everyone and can't really blame him for not being able to contain Bynum considering Bynum is a center and has 3-4inches on him. We are all used to the great defense of Hayes, but everyone can't be Chuck.

    You are kidding?

Those are guys who are doing great against other teams, what the hell do you expect? Luis has been playing the best and hardest defense he can play and I believe he has been solid. He can definitely improve, but I think it's unrealistically to expect him to hold down 7 footers who cause mismatch problem for the Rockets.
