I read the title thinking the NBAPA was asking for ROYCE White to be in the dunk contest. That would be fun. He is kind of a heavy dude to be jumping around doing flying dunks though...

Dunk contest better be good this year, the final few years have been a charade. I'm sure there are some ways to bring it back to its glorious years. First of select guys that are creative and can actually do crazy dunks like James White, Gerald Green. Second, don't copy old dunks and think it's okay by paying homage to the old dunker, it's lame (I'm looking at you Budinger!). Third, don't use all these 'props' to make the dunks themselves second to for example blowing out fire, wearing a cape or use glow in the dark clothes.

Just had to exclude the first name from the title, didn't you...

You want Gerald green in, but then you don't want him blowing out fire. Well, that's exactly what he did.

But yes, I agree with every take. The homages are dumb, and props are really stupid.

Just go back to doing straight up dunks. Who cares if everything has been done. I'd rather see the same dunks done nicely with different finesse or power in each players different take than seeing lame props. It's embarrassing.

He easily would've won years ago. I figure his hops are not quite what they used to be but they still would likely win him the contest if he enters. Hope we get to see him this year.

If white had done it years ago, it would have been considered on of the greatest all time next to vince. I saw vids of him going between the legs from the free throw line.

On another note, the contest needs to bring back judges. Lats year without the judges, the post dunk sequence was super awkward and i liked the anticipation and ensuing debate of what they could get. need to get and what they should of had.

White was a supreme dunker in his prime..haven't checked anything from him in few years but always wanted (as well as most have) to see him in the contest. The guy is one of the best leapers/dunkers ever! I'm rooting for him to win (unless a rocket is in it)

James White's signature dunks from the free throw line can win this contest easily. My question is does he still have his athleticism to complete those dunks?

James White has no flair to his dunks. It's amazing for far he can jump and high, but they are so bland. No..."umph" if you will....anyone else agree?

It's all about the way you bend and move your body in the air. Jordan was amazing at that and it made for incredible slow motion dunks.

James white, Terrance Ross, Gerald Green and Eric Bledsoe. I'd be excited about the dunk contest again.

Nobody cares. People want to see the stars perform. Not nobodies like James White. Don't have a dunk contest if stars aren't going to participate.
