I’m high on Jabari, too, but all your comps are off. Giannis: no, Klay: no, Dream:???, Clyde: ???… Rashard: may be… How about GenZ’s Admiral? More slender, less physical, longer range on the shot, but generally similar style.
Tough to find a comp for Jabari because his defense and offense styles are rarely found in this specific combo.
It's not my fault you don't know the difference between points per game and field goals attempted. OP includes a link to stats in every post you absolute spoon, heights too. Double check your own post. My [PA] threads purposefully include sections called "The Good" and "The Bad". You've cherry picked these posts by focusing on half of the assessment, trying to make a point and utterly failed in doing so by posting incorrect statistics, tried to make Alpe look better than a teenager by posting stats from his 2nd year comparing Jabari's first, and to boot you have terrible grammar. Why is every thread brought back around to Alperen Sengun? For fk's sake. You guys can't let anyone have an ounce of discussion that doesn't involve him and it's gross. Obsessive. No need to summarize my posts, I already do that too.
Giannis listed 6'11" 243 lbs. 7'3" wingspan. Jabari listed 6'11" 220 lbs. 7'2" wingspan. Both lanky, long armed, agile and fast. That's the comp for me. The Klay Thompson one was a draft guru comp. Not necessarily mine. Rashard Lewis seems like a floor to me as far as production goes, he was good. I think Jabari will be great. I think you missed my point on Clyde... David Robinson with range would be super crazy, I'm always shocked at his stats every time I look. Jabari's combo of traits and skill are possibly without comparison. A near 7' with range, impact defense all over the court, a potential 3 level scorer... I think the name I'd really go for is Kevin Garnett. But even KG didn't range to the 3.
First and foremost, your lack of ethics of discussion is sickening, your attitude as well. This is the last post I'm going to waste on you. If you are not willing to respect criticizm or people's right to discuss you should not make assessment or start any threads. Second, i did not cherry picked, you did. I only pointed out your own last comment section not pros and cons parts. You better not misinform people if you want to be taken seriously. Third, i took the data of NBA.com. I don't care what else you got. I use the official one. I compared recent seasons statistics because you assess players according to up to date performances. I wish all rockets players the best. Not trying to make it about alpi, just pointing out your hypocrisy while complaining about other fans.
More perimeter oriented KG is a great comp. People thought KG wouldn't make it because his post game sucked (he was more of a short jumper in the post than the predominant post moves) and he was skinny entering the league. Didn't matter he was the toughest mf'er his frame would allow. Jabari's intensity about playing defense and his gradual improvement combined with his frame = likely all defense first team. I wouldn't bet against it for sure.
Talk about ethics and criticism while you twist words like I didn't write out detailed opinions and can't handle it being pointed out. Neat trick. Sir this is clutchfans.net no one is taking it seriously. And yes, you cherry picked my comment that's why I responded with the full commentary. Again, everything I wanted to say is there to read. You framing it to mean something else is on you and is the definition of cherry picking. You misquoted Jabari's points per game, conveniently, and can't handle the criticism of how it looks to compare Sengun's 2nd season to Jabari's 1st. Again, that's on you.
by the way… Garnett’s first NBA season, being 19 years old (born in May): 10.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, in 28.7 minutes. Jabari’s first NBA season, being 19 years old (born in May): 12.7 points, 7.2 rebounds in 31.0 minutes.
I really do feel like Jabari's potential is almost limitless. His frame and versatility on both sides of the court are uncommon. Really excited to see what kind of work he's able to put in the gym this offseason. Usually not a big proponent of harping on draftees/teenagers to put on a bunch of weight, everyone gets their man-weight eventually... I'm mostly just excited to see what he can achieve in the gym. I think 240 is definitely attainable, his dad was 250. We saw Jalen's offseason work pay off this year, I'm hoping Jabari has similar gainz.
Also important: Jabari .511 TS% KG .522% on fewer attempts Lots of similarities. KG was also known to call out teammates for bad effort or bad defense and sometimes he was wrong too but he was always that leader who raised the team's floor defensively. I don't recall him doing it when he was 19, but certainly when he was in his early to mid 20's. I think we are going to see that obsession with defense from Jabari like Kawhi or Jimmy Butler or Kevin Garnett. Lots of rookies talk about wanting to be good defenders, but once in a while you find a rookie who just f*cking loves it and you can see it in their eyes when they talk about it. If that dude can score, you have hit the jackpot. Looking forward to breakthrough seasons for Sengun, Green and Jabari. It's going to be SWEET and the haters will be relieved that they were wrong.
Hopefully Jabari hires him a real trainer and nutritionist. I want him hanging with Brian Cushing and The Rock all summer. Get on the roids.
I'm very optimistic on Jabari, but...here are the advanced stats for the entire season. fivethirtyeight Stathead Perhaps "obsolete" doesn't mean what you think it means. Again, I am optimistic on Jabari - he is only 19 (about 10 months younger than Sengun).
