I think my primary concern is Yao's stamina. I don't mind JVG forcing Yao to learn to play the low post the hard way, but if Yao's career is shortened because he's playing intense physical basketball twelve months out of the year, that's a problem. I respect Yao's offseason commitments at home, but somehow we have to find a way to ensure he gets some rest.

I proposed giving him some time off. Yao is going to be a mess if the Rockets make the playoffs if he plays in all 82 games. A rested Yao is the best asset the Rockets have.

yao should adopt a netball style of shooting. some netballer's don't bend their knees and just flick the ball with their wrists.

Exactly! Stop comparing him to all the other greats. Yao is Yao. He is unique. Just like anyone else, he has both strengths and weaknesses. He should work on both during the practices and the games. Be it 50/50, 30/70, whatever. He should mix them up, use all his repertoires during the GAMES, score some points and improve his confidence. I said it before and I'll say it again. You dont tell King James to just keep shooting the ball and forget about his passing or penetration, just as you would not tell a right-handed boxer to go into the ring just to use his left hand so he could improve that hand in the long run. I bet he would be brain-dead long before that'll ever happen. LOL
