it was also unlicensed so i think that is what really bumped it up. this is really a case where plax should get a 30 day sentence two years plea bargined is unfair.

I can't believe people actually feel sorry for this guy?! He walked into a crowded nightclub and shot himself with an illegal weapon. How stupid can you get?

Who's to say he couldn't just as easily have shot someone in the face? I'm ALL for 2nd Amendment rights, but this is about as criminally negligent and dangerously irresponsible as it gets.

Everyone on the radio is complaining that he got 2 years for shooting himself not realizing the fact that he shot himself has little to do with the sentence. He is getting 2 years for unlawful gun posession.

Not to go D&D but . . our former VP *DID* shoot someone in the face
all he got was an apology from the guy . .. for putting his face in front of his gun

He legally had the gun... and the guy didn't press any charges against him.

    Still an incredibly stupid sentence.

Not the same. He went out hunting with this dude LEGALLY. As far as that dude getting shot, it is one of the risks you take with it. Also, enough witnesses claimed complete accident. Guy survived. Plus guy knew that there was a risk, no matter how small, that he could get shot by accident.

No doubt it was reckless behavior, but he is in trouble for possession of the gun, not the reckless behavior. And how is that behavior different then a DUI?

I feel so bad for this guy.

Acting stupid should not get you 2 years in jail.

He should get 60 or 90 days...
