They won championship with Trevor so I don't understand that decision. But it would be interesting to see Ron and Kobe. He always says he is ready to touch the ball less and than in the season it is all false.
Lakers fans in general are pretty down on the Artest/Ariza "swap". Artest will make them forget real quick...
I loved Artest when he was here with the Rockets but no way is he a better overall player than Ariza. Have we forgotten how he shot less than 30% from 3pt area? How Artest has now lost half a step and players are now able to get around him. Artest only made sense staying with the Rockets if Yao was till around, now that he's not we need to get younger, more athletic, and quicker. And Ariza is exactly that.
I just love how this tool tries to have it both ways... saying Ariza has "limitless" potential if he were to stay a Laker, while also saying he'll be mediocre as a Rocket. Take more zinc, Bill. For your own good. <hr> Upon further reflection, it occurs to me that Plaschke isn't talking about Ariza's development, so much as saying, basically, that the Rockets as a whole will never amount to anything (read: win a championship). That is even more galling.
Oh, but wait - it's true. The world revolves on two, exactly two, axis: Lakes and Knixies. Wait, wait - is that really true???
i honestly think Ariza is gonna be a good fit for houston. he reminds me a lot to mr. big shot Horry but with more talents.
Ron has lots of great clubs and bars to hang out in. I smell trouble. Kobe punked Ron on national TV ...twice. I smell trouble. Ron likes to take a lot of shots. Kobe likes to take even more. Ron has been on 'good' behavior because he was on a contract year. Now Ron has a 3 year deal. If I'm a knowledgeable Laker fan, I'm a little concerned about this move.
We got to watch Artest all of last year, something stupid Plashke didn't do. Artest will fit in fine. He only went crazy a few times, and those few times it wasn't that bad. He was only being a ballhog when he had a delusional sense to be a hero when Yao was being fronted or something. 95% of the time he played within himself.
Ariza 1) Way better shot selection 2) Can hit open shots ( I rarely see him miss wide open 3s ) 3) Good at fast breaking 4)Athletic 5) Great anticipation and lengthy which gets him a lot of steals. Artest 1)Tough as nails 2) More of a leader Ariza FTW!
Well, don't forget that there are certain idiots on this board who are calling him Fraud Artest and various junk like that. And yeah, Plashke's a moron, though I remember his column after the Laker's Game 4 defeat against us was hilarious.
I agree, Plashke is a total dumbass. And I think Ron will be just fine in LA. But I can't wait for those plays when he goes off the reservation and jacks up shots and Kobe will have a dumbfounded look on his face. No matter what team he's on it will happen, probably fewer times in LA though.
Kobe had Kwame missing dunks in daily base. If you think he couldn't tolerate some of Ron's dumb moves. Thank again.
