I thought people were upset because they kinda resemble breasts, I guess that's just me:eek:... I like the environmental thoughtfulness by having trees and plants up in the sky, though it is mighty ugly. In regards to the controversy, it didn't even occur to me to think of that....obviously since I was thinking about other things......

I think it's kinda neat. Now, if this wasn't an allie doing it, it would probably be a different story.

Exactly what I saw, but it could have been because of the title of the thread. I was looking for something controversial.

Yeah, too similar to the WTC.

On an unrelated note, Lego should license designers and architects to make giant skyscrapers that look like custom Lego designs.

Yeah I didn't read the article and didn't see the controversy people were pointing out.

I thought the controversy was that the building looks extremely unsafe, meh, Personally I wouldn't live in those connecting condos.

that building design is pretty ugly, not saying that it isn't neat or badass, but it is ugly.

After living overseas past few years, I realized that no one really cares about 9/11 or WTC anymore outside the USA.

Yep. Looks terrible from the ground. The top down view is pretty neat to see all the green.

But from the ground....one of the ugliest designs I've ever seen.

I had no idea what was going to be controversial and thought it was some safety problem in the "cloud" portion of the building or something but it turned out to be something stupid after I read the article. People really need to stop being so sensitive god damn.

The WTC connection didn't even occur to me until I read some of your comments. Anyone who finds the design offensive needs to grow up... unless you just think it's offensively ugly, and that's fine, I guess.

That said, I LOVE this design. Among the few forums I frequent other than here are skyscraper ones, and this is kind of stuff I get excited about: interconnected buildings, abstract design, elevated greenspace, etc. This trend will hopefully lead to multi-leveled city infrastructures where the elites inhabit the uppermost levels and the sunlight-deprived earth surface decays into crime-ridden dregs where the serfs dwell and fend for their lives against the rapidly evolving mutant population.

that explains why this building looks like it was designed by a bunch people high on mushrooms.

dont all skyscrapers sway back and forth a little bit in high winds? if both of them are swaying independent of each other wouldnt that compromise the middle part?

That makes sense, most countries tend to focus on their own greviances then ones that didn't happen to them.

How many Americans care about the rape of nanking? Or the siege of Sarajevo? Hell, how many Americans care about the battles in the world wars that we didn't fight?

Didn't make a WTC connection. It reminded me of the tumors you sometimes see on trees.
