Plane crash due to engine failure captured on video

So there is the possibility that it could have glided even further? One of the things I've always heard told to those that are afraid to fly is that even if the engines die, a planes natural design (that of to fly) enables it to glide and not just drop like a rock out of the sky like you see at the end but I've read what you and other stated that it was caused by a stall.

 

Almost sounds like someone is shooting at it but that's probably the engine cutting out.

 

A plane stalling mean it has lost the speed needed to keep it in the air, not the engine failure.

A plane will glide until it stalls at which point it will fall. A pilot can put the nose down, gain speed then try to get lift again, but if you are low as the guy is in the video you are pretty much boned.

 

Very sad. That's crazy that that was caught on video, it looked like the kids were playing with their dad's video cam.

Isn't it weird how human beings secretly crave disaster and shock?

 

I think it's difficult for kids to think a few steps ahead or beyond what's infront of them, they'd probably have the same delayed reaction if they saw a car drive off the road into a river.
