how about this: if the defense cant stop a 3rd and long, and keep giving brady chances to go to the red zone, he is going to score, if the defense cant line up in the red zone, they pats are going to score. if you cant stop a 3rd and 23 against the colts, how are you going to stop brady for making a 3rd and 10? but I agree that kubiak is an average head coach.
Because Patriots defense IS NOT THAT GOOD The WEAKEST unit on the field for both teams was the Patriots DEFENSE (Texans special teams aside) And it was not picked on enough. Particularly their pass defense. Pats run defense is a strength of theirs (which negates Texans strength some). Their pass defense is pretty porous. they get by on causing TURNOVERS mostly. (And its bend-but-dont-break, they don't give up as many points as their defensive rank would indicate) Which means a PRO BOWL QB like Schaub SHOULD have success against them. It should be the opposite, their D makes Schaub looks more "Brady-like", and yes OUR D is supposed to make Brady look more "Schaub-like" but that didnt happen For sure. Demeco Ryans as well. Salary cap matters aside, can only do "We have just enough left" for so long. And when the "just enough left" gets injured (like Brooks Reed) then you have little to nothing. But simply against the great teams, you need ALL the TALENT you can possibly have going against them. (And not have coaching like in Philly mess the talent all up)

so hey, I thought you couldnt stop brady to score over 40 pts! IF the texans D played like the ravens D today, the texans would have won last game, so wade should make some changes against brady. I didnt see a lot of blitzes today against Tom Brady. Also I blame the O-line too, Wilfork couldnt even get a tackle, he was a non-factor vs Baltimore.

RR, watching last night I don't know how you could lay the Texans loss at Foxboro so squarely at the feet of the QB. I wish we had a better QB to be sure...and I think Flacco is clearly superior. But the Ravens scored as many points last night as the Texans did last week....but they were able to contain the Pats big time. Time of possession was nearly a push last night...didn't matter. The Ravens stopped the Pats from getting in the endzone (even from the red zone) and forced Brady and the Pats into two INT's and fumble. The difference between the way the Ravens played D against the same unit the Texans did the week before was very noticeable. The point made last week was that every offense in the league would need 40 to beat the Pats...and that we all knew that going in. That was proven false. Because last night...in Foxboro...just 14 points would have been enough. The offensive production for the Ravens (28 points) was exactly the same that the Texans put up last week. Now I'm not saying the Texans' offense is great...or that they shouldn't begin looking for Schaub's replacement....but this whole scapegoating of the end of the season on Schaub and the offense is misplaced. There were problems on both sides of the ball (starting from the second J-Ville game on) that brought this team back to Earth from a great start.
I'm sure there is a medical term for that kind of delusional fixation. Schaub surely deserves some fault but to turn everything that went wrong with the texans back toward Schaub is just silly and it's hard to take someone serious when they do that.
which throws were that outrageous? all of those throws that were thrown yesterday are ones that a certain qb can make and has made. "Hell . . Cause Kubiak would have made those CALLS??!?!?!?" now that we can all agree on. You didn't see harbaugh stall drives by attempting to force the run. When the ravens ran it well, it was because the pass set up the run, something that prior to having Wade, kubiak was ok with. Blaming it all on the QB is silly. But the playoffs is where qbs earn their rep, and as of right now it's a failure. Back to square 1. =( oh my 8 months of no football. It just hit me.

Wade Phillips is any NFL elite QB's b****. His blitz happy defense works on inferior QB's, but he needs to learn how to make adjustments to the better ones.
After watching last night's game, I am inclined to say that the loss was 50% on wade and the defense and 50% on the offense. Case in point, what happened to start the 3rd quarter? We came in with the momentum, and the Pats took that all away again by marching down the field on us for a TD to start the 3rd quarter. That was on the defense. They then give up two more TDs in the 3rd quarter. Bottom line Wade deserves to take much of the heat because his gameplan was horrible.
And I know people don't like to talk about it... but Flacco (who has certainly put together a nice run - but I wouldn't argue is "clearly" superior to Schaub) got lucky with Talib going down. (Which is not to say he didn't make plays; he did. But facing a Talib-less Patriot D is certainly an easier task.) Now, granted - sample size is small. But he started 1/6 with two punts. On the ensuing drive after Talib's injury? He hit on his first 5, including a 25-yarder to Talib's man (Smith) and the Raven's scored a TD. Floodgates opened up after that. Now, it might very well be as simple as, "He warmed up." But I think Talib going down was a difference-maker. We watched him contain Andre Johnson for 8Qs. He's a very good CB.
yep, in the first half Joe Flacco only had 81 yards, 0 TDs, Torrey Smith only 1 rec. in 2nd half, when they realized that Talib wasnt going to return, Torrey Smith gets always open, and Flacco its amazing. so I agree that they got lucky with Talib out.
How about some play calling that allows for touchdown passes being actually caught. Another legit reciever wouldnt hurt things. Tired of seeing 7 yard passes to Owen Daniels...
